A New Thing

Okay.. my break is officially over and it feels great to be back! :P went for gatekeepers today and i just enjoyed myself in the presence of God and there was a bearing of witness and a sense of affirmation at what God is doing in our midst!

Today i shared some of the things which i felt God was impressing upon me and also some of the stuff that i've been learning through my break... One of the things was God's desire to renew our mind.. God was just showing me a while back that its not just about a renewal or cleansing of our thoughts but God also wants to change the way we think, the way we see things... Its not just about a change in content that our minds are filled with.. it's about a change in the way we process them, a change in the way we see things- our worlview, our perspectives, our paradigm.. it's about seeing things from His perspective and thinking as He does...

He was showing me that when the way we think and see things start to change, then we start to change, the things around us start to change in a sense that we begin to relate to them differently.. even as the change takes place inside of us, to us, we will see things differently, as if everything else is different... that's what it means to have the mind of Christ...

He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." Rev 21:5

That verse has been impressed upon me this week and i believe that it's gonna be a key verse for the year ahead.. that God is gonna make everything new.. and He's starting by renewing our minds and having them conformed to the mind of Christ so that when we get His perspective, we see everything differently, we relate to everything differerently and the chage starts from there... everything else is different.. God was showing me that its gonna come out of our confession.. we can confess and make that "new" thing a reality and our confession, mixed with faith, is gonna release His power to change the surroundings...

God is really doing something in our midst... Today, i sensed that He was
1) releasing a strngthening
2) restoring vision
3) enlarging hearts so that we have a greater capacity to receive that vision...

One of the other things i shared today is how God taught me recently that many times, we're too focused on our goals that we forget to stop, breathe and take a look at our surroundings and appreciate the journey that we take to get there.. again it's a matter of perspective.. Many times, we become disappointed cos we all want to see the goal of revival meeted out.. we want to see ourselves and our youth passionate for God.. and we have a tendency to measure ourselves in absolutes.. that means that when we don't see that goal materialize, we get disappointed, etc... But let's understand that our journey is our walk and God is with us along the way.. and the journey is part of it.. we experience Him cos He's beside us and He's going through them with us and He's gonna use the journey to build precious things in our lives... So let's allow Him to broaden our perspectives and take in the journey that God brings us through and let's take up our crosses.. One the way to our goal, we'll encounter Him too! :)

God bless! :D

The Eagles

Recently over the weekend, i've been receiving impressions regarding the eagle.. then on sunday the Lord opened my eyes and dropped certain things about the ministry of an eagle and what it means...

Many people aassociate the eagle with the prophetic ministry.. which is not wrong.. but the Lord has given me some fresh insight i just want to share with this emerging generation of eagles...

The anointing of an eagle is the anointing of intimacy.. that's the primary thing that characterises a prophet's ministry- his intimacy with God.. a prophet knows God's heart.. John the Revelator, the Apostle who wrote the fourth gospel, is also known as the Apostle of Love... he was frequently symbollised by the eagle, as was his gospel.. revelations 4 gives us an insight into the 4 living creatures which are symbollic of matthew, mark, luke and john.. the living creature with the face like an eagle symbollises the gospel of John.. cos it portrays Jesus' divinity as the Son of God as well as His ministry as the Prophet.. God was identified with the eagle in the bible, even as in Deuteronomy, it says that he carried the children of Israel on His wings.. Prophets were identified with the eagle too.. but especially John.. The foremost quality that we know about John is that he laid his head on the heart of Jesus.. cos true prophets really know His heart.. John is also known as the disciple whom Jesus loved and he had a great revelation of God's love that we can see from the writing of his gospel as well as his epistles.. Out of the three that were part of Jesus' inner circle, John stood out.. He was the disciple who had the greatest intimacy with Jesus...

The gospel of John, therefore, is a gospel of intimacy that proceeds from John's profound revelation of God.. the revelatory anointing comes together with the anointing for intimacy.. I call Psalm 139 the Psalm of intimacy as it shows David having an intimate revelatory encounter with God... From Psalm 139 and Ephesians 3, the Lord showed me how the eagle is called to explore how wide, long, high and deep is the love of Christ...

Some points about the eagle... The eagle has powerful talons and a beak, that makes it dangerous to its enemies.. the Bible makes many references also to how swift it is.. the eagle also makes its nest on high.. it makes its dwelling up on the mountain.. which represents our walk with God, how close we are to Him, dwelling in His secret place of intimacy, on that high place where He is.. Everyone's also probably familiar with Isa 40:31.. and the reason why many in the church suffer burnout is cos of lack of intimacy.. but God promises that as we wait on Him, He will renew our strength... Many times, the journey may be tiring and lonely.. that's why we see the eagle build his lonely dwelling up the mountain.. cos in that place of solitude, that's where he encounters God...

But though the eagle stays up on high, it also swoops down and catches prey... it has powerful vision cos of its more dilated pupils that allow more light into its eyes.. its vision helps it to see its prey from a great distance.. the eagle soars on a strategic plane, having great vision and greater perspective on the will and counsel of God.. This speaks of intimacy and the anointing of an eagle as an anointing for strategic-level intercession... we are called to dwell in heaven as well as to execute the counsels of God upon the earth.. we're called to see from a strategic plane and war against the counsel and strategies of the enemy upon different spheres in the earth... but more than that.. we're called to usher in the government and authority of God in these spheres, as we have seen and heard from on high.. in the spheres of science, music, biology, industry, etc...

Which brings me to the prophetic call of this generation.. paul keith davis talks about the four living creatures in revelations 4 as symbollic of the different ages in church history and we're living in the last, the time when God is pouring out a great eagle, revelatory anointing.. He's raising up a revelatory company to usher in His glory and His judgments upon the areas of the media, government, politics, etc.. the different spheres on earth where He strategically stations His eagles.. He's gonna release this company to go up and soar in the heavens where they'll receive revelatory blueprints of God's government and plans and then go down to earth to execute them to usher in His glory.. it's part of His end-time plan to usher in His coming.. But this prophetic company is gonna be known more than just by their revelatory gifts that they bring in the spheres where God places them.. this group of people will carry with them an anointing for intimacy.. they'll carry an unbridled love for the Lord.. they'll spend time in prayer and worshipping Him and knowing the deepest chambers of His heart...

God bless!

Accessing His Presence

On my bus ride home this evening, i was just thinking about some stuff, about the Presence of God... soaking in His Presence, the blessings of His Presence like the one in Toronto, etc.. and the Holy Spirit interrupted my thoughts...

He was telling me that i could experience the reality of His Presence right here, right now... I asked Him how.. He told me, "by faith"...

The bible says that the Kingdom of heaven is within you... that means even the most glorious experience of His presence that you've felt, whether in Toronto, or some other conference, or even by a visitation to heaven itself.. it's all on the inside.. it's all accessible by faith.. it's all accessible by the Holy Spirit...

There's so much more i need to learn about this...

The Light of Life

Earlier this morning (which is really not that early concerning that i've been waking up late :P) i was on my bed and my spirit was just talking to God and i sorta had a vision of Jesus and i saw Him as someone who showed light into the darkness of my soul, even as i was confessing my sin to Him.. and it was a very interesting and peaceful experience.. it was very brief but it taught me a great lesson...

in Him we see light.. the thing is that in pursuit of sanctification and trying to live our lives perfectly before Him, many of us (like me) try to scrutinize ourselves for every inch of darkness and confess it out.. and when we do, we go like "whew", having gotten it off our conscience.. but then it doesn't change us... we behold our sins instead of beholding Him.. and by beholding Him we are changed..

but the Lord was showing me a better way of confession and sanctification.. where it's not us searching ourselves but allowing Him, His light, searching us.. and as we behold Him and seek Him, He shows us those things is our lives He needs to deal with.. cos when we scrutinize ourselves, it becomes a dead ritual, more rooted in pursuit of perfectionism rather than the pursuit of God.. it leaves us frustrated with where we are.. we're left with no peace.. but His way is different.. He shows us through His light.. and we're focused on Him.. and His peace fills our hearts; something that self-scrutiny doesn't have the luxury of giving.. self-scrutiny will leave you judgmental of yourself, but by beholding Him, you know the truth cos He's the truth and the truth sets you free... and all you have to do is agree with Him.. agree with what He shows you.. before Him, you dun have to pretend to be someone you're not cos you know that He knows.. and as you agree with Him, it leaves no room for condemnation... a divine transaction takes place... It was like how Zacchaeus changed instantly after being face to face with Jesus!

But all things become visible when they are exposed/reproved by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. Ephesians 5:13 NASEC

It's very interesting to note that the Bible tells us that everything that becomes visible is light... Everything that the light shows, that the light shines on, that the light reveals and makes manifest becomes light- it becomes the same substance as itself... light changes darkness into light... whatever light touches, it becomes light...

So any area of darkness under our lives, when revealed and seen through the light of Christ, becomes light! Do you get it? That means that no matter what dark areas there are/were in our lives, when God brings them under His light, they get redeemed, they become something glorious... every darkness that once was or is is an opportunity to have more of the light and glory of Jesus in our lives! That's the beauty of redemption! He never wastes any experience...

Stay cool.. :)

Feeling Alive?

Today i woke up in the morning, dragged myself outta bed... i've been on study break the past week, which almost seemed like a prelude to the holidays that'll be coming.. my activities have been eating up into the wee hours of the morning, the reason for my inexplicable body clock... i needed to wake up relatively early today... after all, it was the first day of exams.. haha... and due to the very nature of my body clock programming, i was reluctant to leave my bed.. so when i finally did, i got myself ready to go to school.. there was probably still some measure of drowsiness on my way to the bus stop.. I wasn't really nervous or anxious.. rather, i still felt kinda stoned out... so as i was strolling to the bus stop, i was praying and telling God that i needed to "feel alive"... be careful what you pray for...

I got to school and i did what i needed to do... print notes in the library, collect GEM Position Paper, etc.. i was left with slightly less than an hour before my exams were scheduled to commence... from the very start of the day, i was already looking forward to a nice lunch at spinelli at university hall... on the other hand, my exam venue was sheares hall which was kinda like on the other side of the planet.. there was something in me that knew that i shouldn't be going spinelli.. the rain clouds had gathered, it was even drizzling a little, exams were going to start relatively soon... but guess wad.. greed got the better of me.. i rationalised that i still had some time before my paper would start.. so i happily made my way to university hall to have my lunch...

Upon arriving there, i saw that there were not so many people.. i proceeded to make my order.. i knew that they'd take some time to process it but i thought i had enough time... then, more and more people came into the cafe and stated ordering and the staff got their hands full having to process everyone's orders... time passed quckly.. i grew impatient... the start of the paper was fast approaching.. i waited and waited, growing miserable on the inside... i looked for someone convenient to blame, which was not difficult considering that there was the staff with their sleek black apron busily working away... everytime i visited the counter, just to "remind" them with my presence, i would be met with the same gentle response, nicely asking me to take a seat first while they processed my order.. i was really anxious.. as calmly as i could, i told them that i had a paper that was about to start at 1... it wasn't their fault really.. beef stews take time... but by then, the rain was falling terrifically and i was stranded somewhere in between the stew and my bad attitude... though i threw no tantrum, inside of me was a confluence of negative emotions, being pressed for time, impatient, wanting my food there and then... i knew i was responsible for getting stuck in such a predicament.. but it was definitely more convenient to channel such emotions at the cafe attendants...

when the food came, i managed to force a smile out.. which was not difficult, considering the fact that the object of my longing had finally reached my arms.. i ate as quickly as i could.. and it didn't help that the stew was piping hot.. the cold drink i had ordered did.. but it brought about such a confluence of flavours in my palate that i couldn't really enjoy my meal to its maximum potential.. added to this was all the negativity inside of me that had not yet subsided... i told myself that that was the most horrible meal that i had.. not so much to say anything about the stew's quality but because of the experience of having to eat it, pressed for time and being in such a miserable mood...

Once i finished, i bolted out of the cafe and headed straight for the main road, hoping to get a taxi to sheares hall, my exam venue... (imagine hiring a taxi just to get you from one part of NUS to another!) In a short time, i did get into one but the heavy rain had already managed to wet me significantly.. I then directed the taxi driver to the other side of the university.. but when i reached my supposed destination, i realised that it wasn't it! I didn't read the map carefully and i ended up in the wrong place.. not knowing how to direct the taxi to the right one, i got off.. and i started running.. right there in the middle of a downpour.. i didn't know exactly where to run, but exams were gonna start soon and i knew i had to run somewhere! So i managed to get from where i was, to business faculty, down an obscure flight of steps, to a few buildings in the distance, i then shot straight down a pathway for about more than a hundred metres before i reached my eventual, correct destination... (Afterwards, i found out that there was a shorter route that i could have taken and i could have easily directed the taxi down that path)...

The interesting thing was this... while i was running around the campus in a frenzy, getting drenched by the rain.. the thought then hit me... i sure felt alive now!...

So eventually, i reached the exam hall just as the examiner was reading out the exam rules, everyone else already seated.. my heart was still beating fast.. i never got so much exercise in a day before! i would have been heavily panting if not for the splendid silence in the exam hall, upon which my heavy gasps for air would have been noticed.. but it didn't matter cos my table was right in front.. and i could have been sure that many eyes were upon that drenched fellow making his way right front from the back entrance... :/ to top it all off, i had entered the exam hall wet and without a jacket... and nus exam halls are notorious for being the north poles of asia... Having said all this, it was interesting that now i was far from miserable! In fact i was relieved and thankful! thankful that i managed to get into the exam hall in time... being cold and drenched didn't bother me.. i pleasantly thought that i had 2 hours to dry in that air-con room! I was also quite amused... God really does have a sense of humour...

Talk about reality check.. there's nothing like a humorous lover God who knows how to put you in perspective.. through this incident i learned serveral things:

-that some things are just more important...
-that there are consequences to disobeying the still small voice of the Holy Spirit guiding you on the inside, while following the voice of your stomach...
-that your attitude makes a difference in determining whether you're gonna eat a good meal or a horrible one...
-that prayers are not always answered the way you expect them...
-that there's nothing like a storm to awaken our hearts...
-that God puts storms in our lives to push us to the right perspective... He uses them to interrupt our negativity and self-pity... maybe our outward condition may then seem worse than at first but on the inside, he uses them to cultivate thankfulness, temperance and character.. and shapes our destinies, even as He gets our eyes on the things that really matter...
-that all things work together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.. :) The coldness and the adrenaline rush probably did help in pumping blood to my brain and keeping me alert for my exam! Talk about a blessing in disguise...

In the end, the exam went well and i felt His peace there with me.. In the silence of the exam hall, i was even aware of songs in my spirit... :) God does know how to take care of His children! God bless! :)

We Are an Offering

Ok.. just a quick post.. in case you're wondering why i'm blogging so early in the morning, its cos i wanna jot down this dream i received this morning...

We were having a service.. it was in a big concert hall/auditorium.. i wasn't sure if it was indoors or outdoors.. and i saw a good amount of young people there.. but i don't think it was a Sojourners service cos there were adults there too.. it looked like some thanksgiving service or something and there were a lot of people...

The service began and the worship team took a song.. then when that song ended, it was like the whole band just stopped and there was like an awkward pause in between.. the band didn't go into the next song and i wasn't sure why.. i was very angry when i saw what was happening.. i was thinking that they were not giving due reverence to God.. i saw the guy on keys just being so casual about his attitude and even giggling up there instead of starting the next song and i wasn't very happy...

But then i heard the next song.. i'm not sure how it started.. the congregation may even have started singing it.. and i saw that everybody's hands were up, like as if they really wanted to engage and worship God.. and they started singing:

We lift our voices
We lift our hands
We lift our lives unto You
We are an offering

Lord, use our voices
Lord, use our hands
Lord, use our lives
They are Yours
We are an offering

All that we have
All that we are
All that we hope to be
We give to You
We give to You
We give to You...

And the song left such a deep imprint in my spirit that it stayed with me even after i woke up... It's the cry of a generation desperate for God.. and i believe that's where the Holy Spirit is stirring us towards... He's moving us to a place where that's the cry of our hearts.. that's the sound of a generation so lost in God.. and that song is my prayer for the youth as well as for myself.. after i heard them singing that song in the dream, i was even more zealous and determined to serve God in the youth ministry... cos i want them to offer up that song to Him...

Anyway, the dream didn't end there.. the youth were supposed to give a presentation during that service and there was a team of vocalists who sang.. i think i saw ****** though i'm not sure whether she was with the vocalists or in the first scene during the worship... i can't really remember if they had put up that same song or not.. but i can remember the excellent harmony and how powerful the vocals were.. i heard a guy singing onstage.. i went to see who it was... i looked cos i knew that there were not many guy vocalists around in Sojourners.. den finally i saw **** with the microphone.. and i heard him sing such grand high tenor parts that it gripped me!! it was like those kind of breathtaking tenor parts that leave you with a "Wow"! Besides him, i think there was one more guy vocalist but i can't really remember who...

The Resurrection of The Bee

Well so much has happened in the past week... was really busy with school stuff which all accumulated to saturday when i had a paper due, a test and a project presentation.. but God was really faithful to see me through.. exams are next week and i'm on study break.. but really, once i hit study break i already feel like i'm on hols.. i'm not usually as pressed during exam season as during weeks when assignments are due..

Anyway, God's really been showing me a lot of things and blessing me with lotsa people speaking into my life.. went to Pastor Timothy's house on Saturday with Auntie Lily and i'm blessed by them.. Even Pastor Aaron who i've never met before prophesied over me and released to me God's assurance! Just wonderful being in the presence of God... On sunday, went to CSCC again where the Spirit arrested me during the service and the sermon really spoke to me and challenged me.. And God's been really good to order circumstances in my life the perfect way and evrything turns out beautiful even as i learn to trust Him as i walk with Him...

No time to really post all that the Lord has been teaching me here so i'll just note down this one important and interesting incident that happened on Sunday...

I was on my way to church from town and i had to change bus somewhere at Upper Thomson Road in the middle of the journey... While i was on the bus, i was consumed with thoughts of God, praying fellowshipping and communing with Him.. had just received a spiritual deposit, an impratation in my spirit when after having gone for service earlier in the morning..

So i was caught up with thoughts of God, even singing praises, etc.. when i got off the bus, i was at this empty bus stop where no one was around.. at that time, i was singing "I am a flower quickly fading..." and i noticed that there was this little flying insect nearby.. it looked like a bee (though when i looked at it more closely later, i don't think it was really a bee but a colourful flying insect).. it was so ironic that it was flying around as i was singing about me being a flower.. haha.. but i didn't want it to land on me so i took care not to let it.. and guess what.. it did.

One moment i was watching it.. den it flew past me.. so i turned to see it again.. but i didn't.. so i guessed that it had landed on the back of my shirt.. not sure, i stood up and walked around, and shook my shirt hoping that the little motion that i stirred would move it of my back... still not sure if it was there, i then reached my hand to the back of my shirt, hoping to generate further movement that would perhaps promt it to move away.. and in that moment, i felt my hand land exactly where the insect was! so i quickly brushed it aside and in doing so, i flinged it onto the floor.. and i stood and watched as it lied there, motionless...

I thought that i had really killed the poor bee.. at first, it didn't bother me so much.. but as i was in that bus stop, communing and fellowshipping with God, there was something of His presence that changed me.. it was knowing something of the heart of the Creator that cares for every tiny member of His creation.. in my spirit i felt there was just a form of supernatural love and compassion that was there, even as in child-like faith, i told God in prayer that i felt sorry for that poor bee..

So as i sat there, suddenly, inspiration came.. i remembered those times when i heard messages about resurrecting dead plants.. and even practicing resurrecting road kill.. so i thought that i'd go and try to resurrect this bee! At least, there was no harm trying.. and there was no one at the bus stop to think i was crazy...

So i went to the poor little motionless fellow and observed it closely.. i blew upon it just to test if it was really dead.. and its body was moved slightly by my breath.. but no more.. so in my spirit, i prayed and asked God to raise it up and asked God for a flow of life to the creature... i then proceeded to reach out my index finger and touched the tiny little body... at once, it sprang to life! It started moving around.. but i could see it struggle.. it was almost like it was moving around aimlessly, having lost its zeal and purpose... it was just moving randomly in the ground.. and struggling even while i was at it.. though i was glad with my partial success, i felt sad for the little insect.. it was created to fly.. and so i prayed and ask God to heal it and restore its ability...

After a while of observing the poor bee struggle to move, i saw it stop as abruptly as it had begun. It lied there, motionless... again. I was kinda sad.. it seemed that the bee had given up hope.. and it seemed that life had left it again.. i just figured i'll just leave it there... even as i started to doubt the validity of my previous attempt at resuurecting it. But something in me decides not to give up. so i continued praying and stretched out my hands toward it.. i din't want to touch it again.. cos i figured it might be dangerous to do so just in case it attacks me or something... but later, i changed my mind.. i prayed and asked God again for an impartation of life and once again, with my idex finger, i touched its fragile little body...

The exact moment i touched it, it sprang to life! Immediately, it mounted its wings and shot straight up, fluttering right past the roof of the bus stop where i never saw it again! It happened in the twinkling of an eye.. and i was just there, kinda stunned and amazed by that experience... I felt God's presence, even like as if power had just gone out from me.. and i knew it was God!

The incident left me with several valuable lessons from the Lord. He's the God of the creation and now, it's more alive to me how He wants to restore life to His creation. The fall resulted in death upon the entire earth cos earth was under the dominion of man. Man sinned and corruption came. God's perfect creation was damaged. The relationship between man and animals became hostile as a result of that corruption. Though now we see the beauty of God's hand through fallen creation dimly, imagine what more glorious it would be when creation is once again perfected and brought to the glorious liberty of the sons of God (Romans 8)! Now it makes all the more sense when the Bible tells us to preach the gospel to "all creation" (it's in Luke i think)! That's cos God wants to bring all of creation back to the fulness of redemption and glory, just as how He wants to bring us to that glory also!

Another lesson i learned was that the flow of life comes as a result of the flow of love... As i communed with God and felt His heart for that one single bee, the love and compassion just flowed... And as i result of that, the resurrection life flowed... If God is so concerned for that one single little insect, how much more He is with you and i, and the souls of all humanity! One of the dangerous poison in this corrupted world is apathy.. and if i had moved in apathy, as if i couldn't care less about that little creature, i wouldn't have seen God work in wondrous ways! But the antidote to this poison is love! Love that comes fresh right out of a relationship with the Creator Lover! It's a love that's practical and powerful! If you and i want to move in greater signs and wonders in these last days, we must start practising a life of love... and then that same resurrection life and power will flow out of us.

Faith. It takes faith to act. It takes childlike faith to believe God for even the simplest things and then just begin to start doing them. This incident showed me the importance of what it means to be childlike.

Sometimes, we also don't like the idea of making contact... especially in the context of relationships.. the world says "once bitten, twice shy".. but i also learned the lesson that the flow of love and life comes with contact.. many times, it's not enough to just sit around and distance ourselves from the situation waiting for things to happen.. we've gotta get down, get our hands dirty and even perhaps do something downright gross so as to touch a dead body (in fact Jewish custom forbids the practice)! But there's a flow of life! Sometimes, we have to make the first move, talk to people we don't really wanna talk to, build/mend relationships with them, etc.. but there's a flow of life! The reason why the dead sea is so dead is cos there's no flow! Everything just goes in but nothing comes out! God's life needs to flow through us.. when we get off our butts and start doing something, we'll see Him move through us! Hallelujah! :D

The little bee had a destiny.. it was meant to fly... but something dislodged it off course.. and it gets beaten down, lying dead still, motionless... but God cares.. he wants the bee back on its feet.. life flows to its still body and soon, the bee is back up but it struggles.. it moves around but can't find its place and purpose.. it's destiny seems too far out of reach.. so it gives up.. but God won't give up on it! Life flows again through a tiny little finger until the bee flies and shoots upwards, to do exactly what it was created to do...

Many times, you and i may feel like that bee... i know i do... the vision gets clipped we fall down discouraged.. we stop moving with God.. den God touches us.. and we're back on our feet.. but not the same as before.. perhaps we've become discouraged, jaded in this corrupted world.. we struggle to live for a while but then we say "it's useless" and we give up... the frustration wells up and climaxes.. we say "i've tried so hard and got so far but in the end it doesn't even matter!" that's the condition of humanity.. (that's why that song is so popular in the first place!).. We may give up hope and stop moving again.. lying there motionless.. but then we hear another sound.. like the voice of many waters.. it calls us upwards.. it calls us to arise and shine.. to be what we were created to be.. to do what we were created to do! He touches us and brings a flow of life.. a flow of vision... a flow of strength.. a flow of passion.. then, we're back on our feet, and back on our wings! May this story be like the finger of God and touch your heart today! God bless!

I know i won't be resurrecting cockroaches any time soon!

A Greater Understanding

Now I have...

A greater understanding of the relevance of the "dark night of the soul"; the words were upon my spirit as i entered this season...

A greater understanding of the virtues of "myrrh and aloes" as the Lord impressed them upon me during leader's retreat...

A greater understanding of what it means when the Lord impressed upon me that He would give me the treasures of darkness, the riches stored in secret places (Isa 45:3)...

A greater understanding of the call to bridalhood, knowing that the process is part of the call...

A greater understanding that God won't leave me alone, even as He interrupted my thoughts yesterday using my GEM 1008 teacher and bringing her words to life; i found God on them... and she probably doesn't even know that God used her words to interject into my life with a little of His light...

A greater undertsanding of what it means to be in Christ; the difference of being in myself and in Him... in Him, i'm a new creation... in Him, i'm invincible and impervious to whatever satan throws at me... that's what it means to abide in Him.. what i focus upon, i empower...

A greater understanding of how easy it is to draw closer to God.. cos that's His desire and intention in the first place, to draw near to us... we complicate it too much... and we miss it sometimes cos we don't believe in it...

A geater understanding of how important it is to enjoy God; i can serve Him in ministry and may even be successful while i'm at it but the experience would not be complete if i don't enjoy Him in the process... loving Him means enjoying Him... even as i know that he enjoys me past my failings cos He looks at the thoughts and intents of my heart...

In prayer meeting today, there was just a sweet presence of God and i thank the Holy Spirit for coming down...

Having said all that, i love this dark night.. i won't trade it for anything unless until God leads me out of it, knowing that the process is complete.. :)

pressed but not crushed
persecuted not abandoned
struck down but not destroyed...

Eternal Insights

God was just depositing some more stuff in my spirit this afternoon when i was worshipping Him at Gen service so here they are...

God was showing me how secure i am in Christ. That i don't have to cleave other people, or need to have my identity affirmed by my peers or by some external circumstances... Cos many times, i feel kinda lonely.. and many times, i've noticed my very human tendency to "cleave" to things, to people, etc.. and i get affected by them.. if things around me or inrelationships with ppl aren't right, then i get affected.. but the purpose of my season in the wilderness, this season of stripping, is to remove all those things that i've cleaved onto.. for me to find my sole dependance on God and to know that i am surely and thoroughly secure in Him.. that no matter what people may say or what may happen around me, i am still secure in Him and only Him.. if i allow these other things to have even a little hold over my life, when something goes wrong in that area then i become affected.. but the Holy Spirit is teaching me how to surrender and be totally free in Him. Love You, Jesus...

Another thing that God was showing me while we were worshipping and singing the song "mighty to save" as a declaration was God's assurance of my final brakthrough.. I've entered this spiritual season in the wilderness cos God was calling me to lay aside things in my lives and to seek Him in areas that i need breakthroughs in... and though many breakthroughs have already come, i know in my spirit that i've yet to experience a final breakthrough in this season... but though i haven't experienced it yet, i have the full assurance that it will come.. that God has heard my prayer and that He has seen my obedience to His Word and has honoured it.. though it may tarry, it will still come nonetheless... By the full assurance of faith, I know it's already been done and i know that i have it though i don't have it yet..

"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done..." Ecc 1:9

It is already done! God showed me that He has heard my cry.. My victory has already been decreed from a place of eternity! and from that place, neither past, present nor future can affect it! The bible says that Jesus was slain before the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8).. now how can that be since He only came down later?? Beloved, this is a mystery... Jesus' sacrifice entered the realm of eternity paying for the price for everything covered by the realm of time.. that's why those who have faith in God like Abraham are counted among God's people though Jesus had not yet died in his time.. but the provision of His sacrifice even stretched back through time so that by faith, even the saints of old could partake of the promise by faith! The reason is because Jesus' blood entered the Holy of Holies in heaven, which is in eternity.. that's why from that realm, His sacrifice was made once and for all, covering the sins of generations before Him and after...

Ok... too cheem for you?? Nevermind.. but anyway, God has decreed my victory from that place of eternity.. so it is already mine though i haven't seen it yet! Now I'm claiming it by faith as Abraham claimed his promise by faith! If we learn how to pray, intercede and legislate the counsels of the Eternal One from this realm of eternity, every prayer shall be answered! Even time itself will not be a hindrance to that! It shall only bow down, submit and testify to the sureness of the promise in Christ which is yes and Amen in Him!

Today God was also speaking to me on the bus... I was watching the news on TV mobile and they showed this monkey who was abused by its biological mother.. instead, a mother dog nursed it and cared for it.. and they shared a special relationship with each other... what impressed me most was how two completely different creatures of two completely different species could get along so well! Then the Holy Spirit spoke to me something like "Why can't My church get along?" And i know that He was referring to all the infighting, division and quarreling in the Body of Christ.. though we're all supposed to be brothers, baptised in the same Spirit worshipping the same God yet we still don't have that kingdom mentality and are out to just buld out own kingdoms and chrches instead of cooperating with others and building God's kingdom.. We're supposed to be of one family.. not just spiritual but even biological, belonging to the human race! Yet, God has to teach us through the story of a monkey and a dog that they can behave better than a church full of infighting and discord! Why must animals set the examples for humanity?! Why do animals have to be the examples for the church?! We're supposed to be the church of love! Goes to show where we are.. If we're gonna see revival in our nation, we'll have to learn how to network, engage one-another and have the kingdom mindset!

One more truth that God was showing me was that no matter how great we may see our sins to be, no matter how serious they may be, the Love of God is far greater, what jesus did on the cross is far greater... Jesus' blood is far greater and more seriously weighty than all the sins of the world combined, past, present and future! He's got you covered! Hallelujah!

Be encouraged! :D

Stories Worth Telling

Woke up really early today to go to Cornerstone.. got a free ride from Auntie Lily cos she and my mother were going there too in the morning... And got more observations of the place...

So anyway, Pastor Yang shared again for the first and second services and i'm really challenged and impressed by his boldness and radical spirit... he was realating this very interesting story.. now he has a park near his house where he usually prays, takes a walk and spends time with God.. He claimed the verse in Joshua saying that every place whereupon your foot shall tread shall become yours.. so he claimed the par. "This is my park." Then one day, to his horror, he found that someone had erected an idol there in his park and he was very angry... so he decided that he was going to come at night to destroy it.. his wife adviced him just to take authority over it and he found it a better solution so he did.. den he called the national parks board or something and told them how upset he was to have that idol in his park. He told them that he was a pastor and that if they didn't remove the idol there, he would get the large 8-foot cross they borrowed from Church of our Saviour and put it up right in the middle of the park! Haha.. so it was met with prompt action and within a few days, the idol was gone... Now how many of us would be so bold and radical to do something like that?!

Ok so anyway, i stayed until the third service where Pastor Daniel preached.. he delivered a simple message but the Holy Spirit quickened it and it was quite inspiring.. he shared on his ministry vision for 1000 youth in cornerstone by next year.. he shared on how we need pioneers in the ministry to bring it to a new level.. he shared the testimony of how his cell multiplied from 5 to 30 within 5 months! And it all inspired me... i wanna see Sojourners grow.. not just in their walk with God but also numerically...

Pastor Daniel also has foresight and vision.. he was taking into accont the demographics of the church as well as in the society context when he was reviewing the direction of generations ministry.. he really plans ahead.. and what i appreciate about him is how his foresight and how he sees long-term...

Today i sat with William's cell and got to make a few friends too- Timothy, Dora and Anne... hope i see them again next week.. :) When William brought me to sit in their section, what impressed me was their prompt welcome and how they gathered and talked to me.. and it wasn't just the leaders but the members.. i think it's a healthy culture to cultivate.. :)

So anyway, after that i went to meet my proj mates at city hall briefly.. later serene joined me in the area and we went for dinner.. and apparently we also found this kinda nice Filipino restaurant in marina square which i never knew existed!... And stirred by Pastor Daniel's message that afternoon, God just kinda began to drop little practical inspirations on what i can do to make Sojourners a little more vibrant.. :)

Hallelujah!!! :D

Lessons from the Spirit

As many of you would know, I'm on ministry break as I feel that God has called me into the wilderness to learn how to depend on Him and to get my focus on Him once again.. the time has not been easy but it's been a real blessing cos it's during this time that God has been personally dealing with me and showing me lotsa truths that i can apply in my own life... The desert may be a dry and arid place but it's a place for meeting God.. and i'm not gonna trade this period in my life for anything cos it's during this time that i really can feel Him and i really know that God is soooo close! It's my desire that you also learn from my life and from the things that i go through so you can be encouraged and benefit from it...

One of the things that God has been showing me during this time of experiencing His dealings is that He's really not out to get me but He's totally committed to seeing my destiny come to pass. Cos the thing is that he's been showing me things in my life that needs to go out.. but even so, the Holy Spirit was telling me on one particular bus ride home that He's with me through this and He's gonna go through it with me until i break through.. cos I'm in covenant with Him.. and that's what covenant means- partnership.. That even though He's dealing with me in areas of my life, He's not just gonna sit on His high and lofty throne trying to point out those things i need to work out but He's going through them with me every step of the way, seeing me through whatever... and that's what He's committed to do no matter what it takes, no matter how long and no matter how frustrated i feel in my own imperfections. He's there with me, always!

I write this cos manytimes, satan endeavours to make us aware of every spot and wrinkle as he accuses us before God.. and when he gets us to take our eyes off Him and onto these little things, then he has achieved his aim.. i've learned that even when i sin, not to pray prayers of unbelief but to pray prayers of faith, keeping my eyes on Him who is surpassingly greater and able to bring me through.. and gain His perspective.. what do i do?? instead of getting into the humdrum and lifeless cycle of confession, i choose to break out of it.. though i confess my sins, i don't confess until they're the only thing i see.. i turn my eyes to God, acknowledge His greatness, den i prophesy over myself! I declare the word of God and the heart of God over myself.. that gives me victory from guilt and condemnation. Praising helps too cos praise means to give out light (in the Hebrew; halal).. it means breaking out of the cloud of darkness and depression that satan wants to clothe you in.. but God has ordered that you be clothed with a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair! So next time you sin, confess and repent but also learn how to praise, magnify Jesus for what he's done on the cross and from that perspective, prophesy over yourself the heart of God! satan wun stand a chance...

One of the reasons i'm writing this is cos of a particular worship leader that i met this week.. i know you will read my blog.. and i know that sometimes when you try to lead worship, satan wants to make you feel unworthy, of how unqualified you are of being at the altar cos of this and that, etc.. so for you, the whole worship session becomes a confession session which is merely a guilt trip and doesn't bring you anywhere closer to God.. you become stuck in seeing your own imperfections instead of Jesus, the wonderful price that God has sent to cover you! you know what you're going through.. and i know cos i've been in that position.. many times.. but remember that God has already accepted you. God doesn't condemn you! When satan gets you to look at your faults, you wun find any way out... but look to God! know that He's far greater. There's a way out and His name is Jesus!

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God- that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Cor 1:30

Another matter that God has been teaching me recently was this.. if we continue to believe satan's accusing lies, we sink further and further into that deception- that we're unworthy, that we're unjustified.. and it becomes harder for us to come out of that.. satan wants to present a distorted view of God as someone who is busy picking out your faults.. once you subscribe to this view, you get caught in a deception and you get stuck in an ever-increasing sense of guilt and condemnation.. you fail to find your sense of self-worth and you find yourself condemning yourself most of the time, especially when you're in the presence of God... i speak this from a matter of experience so i know what i'm talking about.. and i leave for us this warning to consider.. don't reject the message of God's grace, love, hope, acceptance and assurance! Yes, it may sound too good to be true but it is!!! If we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us!!! The consequence of doubting this or not believing in it and believing satan's lies is that you'll fall further in deception and it becomes harder to get out! Don't harden your heart to this truth just because you dun understand it! Come to God like a little child and believe in what Jesus has already done for us on the cross!

So what is the truth?? The truth is that though we're not perfect, He still loves us and wants to be with us.. i was walking home from church a few days back while meditating and just talking to God.. i was just there feeling such an incredible sense of peace and joy within me cos i knew He was pleased with me.. i was feeling the pleasure of God as i was walking home.. like as if He was just smiling at me.. and mind you, i'm going through a season where He's dealing with me! But even so, He's still pleased with me.. then it hit me... i don't want to trade that sense of the pleasure of God for anything else! I don't want to trade that communion with God for anything else! i don't wanna do anything that would break that sense of felowship, that channel that feels like the light of heaven upon my life... And that's why i dun wanna sin.. that's why i wanna live my life right.. that's why i dun wanna fall into negativity and bitterness towards other people.. that's why i also dun wana fall into satan's guilt traps.. cos these things hinder me and break that that overwhelming sense of God! That's the reason i wanna please God.. not to get some stain off myself.. Jesus has already done that and in God's eyes, i'm His pleasure!

Ok.. here's another lesson when i was walking home... it was that same evening and i was coming back from leader's retreat with a challenge from Colin Warner to pray... and so i was praying on my way home asking God to give me the grace to be able to pray for longer periods cos i really find it so easy to get distracted or drift away.. den the Holy Spirit was showing me my heart.. He asked me, "Why do you want to pray?".. i understood what He was trying to say.. I wanted to pray cos i wanted to be *more spiritual*.. you know.. kinda like one of those RPG games when you go to a place and try to accomplish a few tasks to "level up"... in this case, it's like "levelling up" through prayer.. it's almost like i was trying to use the prayer time to buy intimacy with God..even my motives for prayer had to be checked.. it's like i wanted to pray more cos i wanted to experience Him more, experience the glories of heaven.. maybe even get a few visitations, etc.. but it was almost like i was cheapening the whole activity and reducing God to a vending machine: "i pray more hours, you make me more powerful".. in any case, my motives for prayer, for such a holy activity, was still very selfish... but i really feel the love of God even in His dealings cos he would love me enough to show me that little Pharasaic poison in my own soul! That means He's paying attention to every detail of my life and is so concerned for me enough to point it out! Like wow! See how He loves us in the midst of His dealings! not like that wretched satan who wants to keep us caged in disgrace and condemnation! With God, there's even a sense of heaven in the harshest of corrections! How wonderful!

In this season in the wilderness, in the desert, God was showing me one thing for bringing me into this place... Formerly, if i do something wrong, i'd just bring it before God, repent and just move on.. without keeping my eyes on Him continually.. It's like you're walking.. den you stop for a while to look at God.. then you continue walking... But now, in the wilderness, experiencing the dealings of God, He's bringing me into an attitude of humility where i constantly have to look at Him even while I'm walking.. cos I'm awaiting the final breakthrough.. before, i came and went into His presence as i pleased.. now, i seek to cultivate a prevaling sense of need and dependence on Him, of looking to Him, as i continually recognise how much i need Him... but it's in this season, that God shall reveal Himself in a way i've never experienced before!

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying in the blues? Fix my eyes on God- soon i'll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He's my God. Psalm 42:11 MSG

Take courage in the wilderness!
An adventure awaits! :D

Tales from the Valley

Spent this week trying to balance schoolwork on one hand and going for leader's retreat on the other.. and i really thank God for giving me the time, energy and grace to pull through! And for favour with prof yong as well who allowed me to submit my history essay by email! :) Leader's retreat was kinda fun and insightful and spent a good time hanging out with the adults...

One of the more memorable things that happened during the retreat was when little Janan came up to me and he noticed my side-parting.. then he started to excitedly move his fringe over to one side and, pointing to me, asked his mother to comb his hair in such a fashion next time... haha.. insurmountably cute...

Yesterday evening i slept kinda late cos i was reading a few books.. before i slept though, i felt that something wasn't right, as if there was an evil spirit inside my room... i wasn't afraid so i just ignored the sensation and decided to go to sleep.. however, moments into my sleep, my spirit was again awake though my body was sleeping and i could hear a voice speaking some kind of tongues.. i figured that they were demonic tongues cos they were making me feel uncomfortable.. so i willed my body to wake up and i succeeded after a while... after that, the uncomfortable sensation kinda disappeared and i promptly went back to sleep...

Today i went to TCC again with QQ and Jas... God really ministered to me as Pastor Gerald shared the Word of God under the anointing... but frankly for a good part of the service, i wasn't really listening to Pastor Gerald.. just that in the atmosphere of the anointing, God was just dropping little nuggets of truth and insights into my spirit for me to search out in the Word of God concerning things He has been showing me lately.. but anyway, i asked God to consecrate me afresh even as i surrendered to the Holy Spirit and i just felt as if i received a fresh impartation at the altar.. i was crying as God was touching me.. it was as if God had put His fire into my belly and i came back from the altar trembling in my spirit.. and it wasn't because of the aircon! i knew something had taken place! while i was just there soaking and enjoying His Presence, God was showing me that i'm gonna be very different when He's done with me, by the time i come out of this season in my life!

Recent Adventures

I went to Tcc on sat.. met Jas there... MY was there too.. apparently QQ was in india so didn't get to see him... but when i entered the auditorium, the presence of God was there and i could feel that it kinda "arrested me"... sat through the service..

Den had dinner with Jas and MY.. we went to Jalan Kayu and ordered roti prata den we went to MY's house to have dinner and fellowship.. was telling them that it was my first time doing such a thing on a saturday.. and Jas told me it was hers too.. haha.. but it was fun to break the routine once in a while.. We decided that when QQ comes back by this weekend, we'll all have dinner again.. (haha.. get QQ to take us to some nice place.. :P)

Got to know Jas a bit better lah.. While we were discussing ministry, Jas asked how come so many people are getting burnout.. Apparently, we've noticed that it doesn't just happen to a single congregation but to different churches as well... sad as it may be, i felt kinda relieved that we're not the only ones.. it shows that satan is making some kind of concerted attack to prevent this generation of young people from rising up.. he won't have his way though...

One thing i appreciate about Jas is that she's real.. there are no fronts to her and she's very honest with what she's going through.. we were talking about how we don't really have many frens, especially in uni.. cos it's hard to find people who are like-minded.. and in uni everyone's seem to be so interested in just the "fun" things.. And also how it's so hard to reach out to frens there cos most of our frens are Christians and in uni it's hard to practice relational evangelism... haha but anyway, that evening, felt kinda encouraged and refreshed by the fellowship.. hmmm.. we should do it more often.. :P

Anyway today i was blessed cos i sat in CSCC for 3 sessions and with 3 different speakers. Ps Karen Dunham mentioned about going after the giants... Going after those things tht have gone after us. and when we do, we'll have heaven backing us up! I wanna be a giant-killer! It's time that we fight against those things that have tried to beset us and take the promises of God away from us...

Den Pastor Yang shared in the Generations Service.. apparently they celebrated their 7th year anniversary today and in 7 years, their youth went from 40 to 450 by the grace of God! Wow! it spurs me on to continue believing in God for His promises upon Sojourners... anyway, Pastor yang shared a short but gripping and challenging sermon today.. he really carried a lot of authority.. he shared on the Jesus People Movement that God raised up against the hippie counterculture.. he also talked about the new sound that is coming from the young people that will rally an entire people, an entire generation.. cool.. looks like we're all bearing witness to what God's gonna do in this next season!

Ask God for more!

Yours is the Glory

I had to go to school on friday to hand in my essay after finishing it.. but the presence of God was in the living room.. as i was meditating upon some truths that God was speaking, i was singing the song:

Arise shine for your light has come
Your light has come
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you
Arise shine, arise shine
For your light has come

(the song had a verse but i cant really remember...) but as i was singing that, i felt a strong anointing just being released.. i went around doing my usual business when i felt the draw of the Spirit to take up my guitar and just worship.. He led me to sing a song that i had composed a long time ago and as i started singing, i felt the presence of God and tears were just coming down my face and the glory of God was heavy in the room that at one point, i put my guitar down and went on my face before the Lord... i tried to sing and my voice sounded horrible cos i was crying out to Him (that's why under the anointing, it doesn't matter if your music sounds good).. my guitar was out of tune but His presence was there.. then deep groanings and cries came out of my spirit as i was telling God my heart's desire... it was such a priviledge to spend time in God's presence.. but what i sensed when i came out of that time was that God's gonna do something in our midst and we can expect it soon.. But you may ask, haven't we been saying that all this while? Yes, but the moment is nearer now than it was before.. i can feel it...

Here's the song:

Yours is the Glory

Let Your glory fill this temple
Let Your presence fill this place
As we gather in surrender to Your Name
We stand in awe before Your presence
We've come to meet the King of Kings
Lord we lift our voice before You
We stand and sing

Lift up His banner high
Let the praises ring

Glory and honour and power
Be to the Ancient of Days
Forever we'll sing of Your praise
Yours is the Kingdom
Yours is the power
And Yours is the glory
Forevermore

We bow our hearts to You in worship
We lift our hands to You in praise
As we gather here together to bless Your Name
Now let Your presence go before us
As we declare Your kingdom come
All our hearts are Yours forever
Let Your will be done

Fill up the battleground
Let the earth resound

Your glory shall be known
Throughout all the earth
As waters cover the sea...

The Call to War

Today i was just thinking on a few things regarding the new sound of worship the Lord wants to release (it's been a long time since i last thought or wrote about this).. I believe that this new wave of worship would carry the sound of freedom to the surroundings, to whoever hears it... And that's why the Lord is doing a work of cleansing upon our hearts- cos He wants to liberate us of the things that hold us back so that when we're truly free of them, we'll be able to worship Him from that place of freedom and release a sound from that place that calls the world to that same place of safety! remember in Exodus, the sign that the Lord delivered His people out of Egypt was the fact that they worshipped at the mountain of fire at Horeb where the glory of God descended... It was at that same time that the enemy released to them a demonic worship that drove the children of israel to depravity, perversion and idolatry in worshipping the golden calf. One of the reasons i believe they were given over to this was because they didn't heed the call of God to the mountain.. they feared the holy Voice that they told Moses "You go on up while we wait down here below.. den later you tell us what God says..." the reason why they fell to the counterfeit sound was because they refused God's offer for them to walk in a higher place and experience Him deeper.. There is coming a time in these days, like never before that worship will come with, and as a result of extreme warfare... and if we do not heed the call of God, the creative sound meant to be released to the world might just be taken over by the counterfeit.. and the influence of the counterfeit would drive world into greater degrees of sin and depravity.. we live in the day that this is gonna be a reality. The worship wars are real.

Now we worship Him at one level.. but as we heed His call to holiness and consecration.. and as He frees us from the grip of things which hold our lives, there will be such a joy and liberty in our worship.. and it will result in us worshipping Him a new, unbridled, unprecedented way.. that liberty would be expressed through song, bringing it's virtue to all who hear it. It carries truth which sets people free.. it is the expression of the reality of Jesus at work in our lives.. and the sound will be more than just music but will touch every aspect of creative arts and the marketplace to measure that we, as vessels are willing. It's a glorious sound for a glorious day. We're to arise and shine for His glory has risen upon us!

Do you know that one of the Hebrew words for praise mean to shine, to give out light?? Halelujah comes from the word Halal which means to praise and which also means to shine.. It's a picture of breaking out... it's time we break out of the enemy's yoke and shine forth in praise and release the very expression of our freedom which would in turn liberate others! That's what Moses did on the mountain- arise and shine.. He arose, met with God and went down radiating His glory! That's the mountain of worship...

Another thing God has been showing me is the fact that other religions out there have very visible and pronounced audible expressions of their worship! Take daoism for example... during their rituals and festivals, there would be banners marking out territory... and sound waves would travel a good distance with the resonance of their gongs, cymbals and bells... why then is the church so restricted in their expression of worship?? The non-daoists hear the bells and the cymbals.. but why issit that non-christians don't hear the sound of our worship? Why issit that we've been so caught up in the confnes of dignity and our own society that we don't match their exuberance, enthusiasm, and plain simple loudness?? Our God is a loud God who wants to make His praises known! Is it not biblical for us to shout our praises? Why doesn't it go on out there in the streets, in the marketplace? Why doesn't it even go on in the church? Has God changed?? Have we run out of reasons to excaim His praises? Oh.. but we don't want to offend do we? So we keep everything toned down! But when other religions clang and gong their way into the spirit realm, why not us? Don't we know that sound travels in two dimensions? How much more the sound of praise that claims terrritories and establishes God's throne in the midst of His people!

Spiritual battles need spiritual solutions.. That's why we're called to worship in spirit and in truth! Cos true worship is spiritual and meant to establish His throne and advance His purposes in the heavenly realms! Cos a spiritual war has to be won first if we're to see real victory in the natural! Where's the spiritual aggression in God's people? Where's the warrior spirit? Jesus is the Lion of thr Tribe of Judah, the tribe of praise! Hve we tamed His expression of worship through us? Cos when He releases a sound, it is a conquering sound! Demons trmble, darkness flees and the Kingdom of God advances! The reason our worship is weak is cos it's mainly made up of our expression. But when we get to the place of worship where it's His expression through us, we'll get to see the release of heaven and it's divine qualities through us, the gates! The battle has to be won at the gates! That's us! Take the gates and take the battle! Spoil the gates and destroy their destiny.. in which case satan steps in and claims them for the kingdom of darkness to release his counterfeit expression! We are in a war! We have to live like we're in a war! We have to worship like we're in a war!

Do you know that during the days of the Methodist revival, people in church metings would cry, wail, shout and scream... In fact, one might have mistaken them for a drunken mob than the people of God. But there was power and sincerity in their worship! God has set us apart to be a peculiar people. Let's live that way. Have we allowed the lion in each of us to be tamed, restrained by the social orders of our day?? There's a passionate cry that wants to break out of the norm, break out of the standards of our time and establish a new unprecedented sound... Who's willing to step up to it? Who's God's man for the hour? Who's willing to pay the price? Everyone's called but who will be chosen? Who is willing? Out of 2 million of Israel at Horeb, God only had 1-Moses.. and 1 was all He needed to change an entire generation...

Will God have you?

Musings...

Today was really interesting.. During DG there were some ppl from the Reb Bull company who happened to come by in school and by way of marketing strategy, gave us free Red Bull to drink.. i think they know it's the stress period in uni so they use this as some kind of marketing campaign.. so anyway, the lady was really nice.. the Red Bull wasn't the normal one you'd see which comes from Thailand.. it was the special sour ones that came from Austria... felt strange though after i drank it.. prolly cause my body wasn't used to it...

This is really amusing if you're not at the business end of it... when i came home, i reached my block and then proceeded to go up the stairs as usual. Some noise along the staircase made by two boys descending fell upon my tired ears and i was naturally irritated... so i decided that if i should meet any of them along the way, i should give them one of those stares.. *_* ... and i did... but the boy didn't seem to really mind it and instead, i was met with an unexpected spontaneous and random greeting from him... "hello uncle..." (why that little...) my stare fell weak and a wane smile broke out upon my face, my pathetic respone to that greeting which left me momentarily stunned...

Was watching TV just now and they had this televised quiz thingy on channelnewsasia.. i learned something interesting... apparently the printer brand Epson got it's name cos it was like the 2nd generation "son" of an Electronic Printer.. Hence, e.p.son- Epson! Seems that the makers ran out of ideas... but one of my first reactions to finding out this interesting little piece of fact was something like this... "If Epson got it's name like that, then what about Rayson..."

highly amusing...
