Dream

Hi everyone.. thanks to all who kept me in ur prayers.. i'm feeling much better now, running nose caught and all since yesterday.. Thank You, Lord for healing me! What's more is that though i have 4 more projects due next week, i can feel the life of God in me! That means that though i may be busy, i won't be stressed cos the life of God sustains me and He will pull me through all those assignments! Hallelujah!

On the bust from school yesterday, the Lord was just dropping me some ideas to deal with those assignments. He gives us wisdom when we ask for it. And He gives us strength too... i was committing them unto the Lord in prayer and though they're like gonna be due really soon i dun feel the pressure cos I have His peace! Lord, thank You for giving me the wisdom and strength to deal with my schoolwork. I pray that my frens will also trust in You and receive from You the grace to go through everything that they're facing in life! In Jesus' Name, amen! :)

Blogging in school now... last night i had a dream.. or maybe it was a series of dreams... i figured that i'd better blog them before i forget about them..

Ok the first one i dun really remember the whole of it but what i do recall is that there was someone who i felt was ready to receive Christ. He looked broken before God, like weeping and it seems that the Holy Spirit has prepared his heart... so when i asked him whether he would like to invite Christ into his life, he agreed and i led him to the sinner's prayer. Honestly, i dun think i know who the person is.. but what i believe this is all about is that God is preparing people outhere.. He's breaking them and working in their lives so that they will receive Him... and we should have the grace to be able to recognise this work of God and see when they are ready and not stall for time any longer but to present the gospel to them.. Recognition of God's work and timing is the key..Hallelujah! [on a side note, let's continue to pray for our frens coming for 333 that the Lord would prepare them... i believe He's gonna do some serious work in our midst.. let's all press in with a sens eof expectation, yeah? ;) ]

Ok i dreamt about going back to my alma mater and watching their drama production (dun ask me why i saw some girls in that production in my dream).. well anyway, they put up such a horrid performance.. i mean like it was terrible.. i wouldn't even consider it rehearsal standard.. it's like everyone was not serious to the task, no focus, they were just playing around, doing their own stuff (almost like they're drunk).. one would wonder why they were even onstage lah! And guess wad- they didn't even finish the play lah.. like i mean they just decided to stop it! not because they were so lousy that the teacher had to pull them off.. but because they simply decided to! Not because they were tired, discouraged or anything but more like cos they were disinterested and just decided to stop out of their own whim and fancy! As in like- have you seen a bunch of kinds not having a sense of committment, a sense of respect, a sense of ownership?? these people were probably the worst of the lot! Very ill-disciplined... Then there was the teacher and i saw her giving some debrief to the whole production team... and there were 3 youths in charge of it all.. they were supposed to be the ones who took us the leadership positions.. and guess wad.. they seemed quite disinterested and unmotivated that i would even wonder why they were put in such important positions in the first place.. When the teacher was giving instructions, i was even wondering whether they were even taking note of them... i could see one of the three nodding her head and responding to the teacher and kind of acknowledging that she understood.. I could sense that to some extent, she did.. but it didn't seem to motivate her much...

Sad to say that i see many parallels in ministry... I'm not gonna elaborate about it.. but I'm gonna speak about the role of the teacher cos it concerns what the Lord is teaching to me about my own life and His dealings with me. I know the teacher personally to be someone who's more focused on the product of the theatre production rather than the process.. and perhaps she's someone that i identify with cos many times i'm like that.. and the Lord has been teaching me for some time now about how the process is more important than the product. And the Lord is saying to me that one of the reasons why we see that the youth are so unmotivated and have little sense of ownership in the ministry is cos many a times, we are too product-oriented.. we are too caught up with the end result, what is produced, that many a times, it takes the joy and the learning out of the entire process. Yes, the product is important but the process is the way there.. it's about the journey.. if people enjoy what they are doing, if people see a point in what they're doing and come to a convergence where they embrace a common goal and vision, it makes the process, the journey there more worthwhile. Everyone, in every level of involvement, from leadership to membership, has to catch that vision...

Lemme take some time to meditate on this... God bless y'all! ;)

Tired

Chris needs energy really... He has one assignment to finish by this friday and four to finish by next. He's been really drained letely and need lotsa prayer... whoever is reading this, please pray for Chris...

Anyway, went to school yesterday and we watched this black and white film during EN2113 and it was quite funny lah... they dun make films like they used to...

While having dinner last night, i went off into those usual "what if..." daydreams... And here's what i was thinking about. Now you see, the Lord has been telling through so many people and incidents that the process is more important than the product. And many times in evangelism it works out that way.. as in many times, we're too conscious about the numbers... we're too goal-oriented, product-oriented.. like we become obsessed with how many people say the sinners prayer instead of ministering to their needs- like how many lives are changed, how many are saved, healed and delivered and set free from things in their lives that keep them in bondage... That's the process... they all have needs too and they need to be met but many of us are too busy getting caught up with the salvation statistics. It's like this- the world says: "Arrgh!!! I'm hurting..." and the church says: "do you know the four spiritual laws" and the world says "i'm hungry" and the people of God say: "come to church"... the world says: "somebody help me kick these habits that are destroying me!!" and the church says "if you don't believe in Jesus, you'll go to HELL!!!!"

I mean like it's time to address the problem.. i'm not debunking the truth in certain things that the church says.. it's just that people want a demonstration of God's power! If you're God is real, prove it! that's what they're crying out! And the things is, whenever someone asks us that, we should be able to answer them! We should be able to give them a response and prove that God exists. In fact, we are supposed to be the living proof that God exists!

The time is coming when during street evangelism, people are not gonna ask passers by "do you know the four spiritual laws".. they're gonna say something like "hi.. we're Christians... is there anything that we can pray for in your life?" It's abour showing that we care about them, not so much that they get saved. It's caring for the person, not the number of salvations... And the time will come that when we pray for them, we'll begin to speak the words of Jesus into their lives that ministers specifically and directly into their personal situaltions and they ask us "how did you know that??" and we reply "I didn't but God did!"... And the time is coming when we pray for them and we see the sick get healed on the spot, the blind men see on the spot, the amputated and deformed grow new limbs on the spot, etc.. It's about the value of that one single soul, that one single individual...

Last year, the Lord asked me "How far are you willing to go?" He told me that He had no problems bringing the people in, getting them saved but how far are we willing to go to avail ourselves, to disciple them, to love them??

So anyway, went for SSA project meeting this morning... and met Alvin in school.. and he was so nice to get me a bottle of water when he found out that my nose was running and that i wasn't feeling well (yes.. and you're all thinking about all those jokes regarding the running nose.. i know i know).. In fact, alvin went all the way from Engine Canteen all the way to the Central Library to pass me that bottle of water! Thanks Alvin. We all can learn a lesson from his servant hood. I'm sure that the greatest reward that he'd ever look for is to see all of us catch that from him.. that we'd go out of our way to serve one-another too! :)

Went for Engage in the afternoon and felt refreshed... really wasn't feeling too good. Thanks to all those out there from whom i've "borrowed" many pieces of tissue... not forgetting of course the gents which provided me an abundance of toilet paper.. like i said in the beginning, please pray for Chris. Chris needs it, ya... thx! :)

toodles! God bless! ;)

The Loser

Okok... there was this thought that i had during the day which i thought was worth blogging lah...

You know that the Bible says that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. The thing is many of us live defeated lives.. defeated by sin, defeated by temptation, defeated by the world, defeated by distractions and so on... Now think about this scenario:

If the greatest superpower in the world, say America, with all it's fine military technology, superior weaponry, well-equipped army and brilliant strategies lost a battle, wouldn't that be utterly disgraceful?? I mean like.. it'll be so shameful that to think that despite all these things, they can still lose a battle... I mean like it would be so loser of them if that happens... If let's say you're the most well equipped soldier with expensive and highly sophisticated weapons and you lose to someone with inferior weaponry.. like perhaps when some guy holding a toy parang comes against your AK and you still lose.. i mean like that's so loser lah!!! And many times we're like that. Cos we have heavenly weapons (see 2 Cor 10) and a heavenly armor and the Bible says "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." (2 Peter 1:3) We're probably the most well equipped warriors of the lot! I mean.. our weapons are divine! And it'll be such a disgrace if we fall into the hands of the enemy cos we never use or dunno how to use our spiritual weapons... We're more than conquerors!!

I'm tired of losing... aren't you! :)

Weekends

Ok... weekends were cool.. here's the rundown...

Saturday, got to wake up slightly later than usual and finally had time to update my blog properly.. then headed down to church for worship prac and then went for CC Camp meeting... and i totally bear witness with the camp theme lah.. This year's camp is gonna be Holy Spirit awesome yeah! not gonna say much.. but watch out... :D hehehe

Went for youth service but left kinda early to go to Republic Poly for grace's concert! It was quite enjoyable lah and i especially liked the Doraemon piece... Then while there, Rayson suggested something very interesting and really worth praying and seeking the Lord about! I'm excited and if u know what it is, you'll be too! But it's in God's hands lah.. what the Lord opens, no one can shut and what He shuts no one can open...

Took 169 all the way home and it brought me home directly... Praise God cos i thought i still had to change bus.. but after all i didn't have to... Got to talk to Him during the bus lah and settled some issues in my heart.. it's all amazing what kind of things that He instructs you to pray for especially if you've made certain boo boos during the day... :P

Woke up early again on sunday for new team.. it's amazing how i survive a sunday cos i always seem to be running around really... i kinda liked it at first but in the long term, it's really not healthy.. like i mean, i wanna just chill for a while and take some time to chat with some ppl, or even talk to my LG... but the busier i get, the harder it becomes. And being busy is of course a trap of the devil.. God, please raise some ppl up to take over my duties.

Shared for New Team again. It was cool cos i felt that it went well and the ppl took in what i was sharing... it's really the Lord's grace really cos i found that i've not shared like that before.. with that kind of freedom in that kind of manner.. it's also by His grace cos with my uber busy schedule, i din really have much time to prepare either. Thank You, HOly Spirit for being there with me. Then went for sectionals and we had a short session among the vocalists about praying in the Spirit. Then we had a time of worship and the Holy Spirit was really there man! And He ministered to us! And He brought us to another level. During the time of worship we had, i believe that the anointing came down and there was a time of imparation to us and the Lord was bringing breakthrough to us and He brought us higher, to another level! I so enjoyed that! :D thank You, Holy Spirit!! :)

Dot helped me zap LG material (which is at the rack for your collection). During that time, i went kinda blur.. haha... as in i thought i zapped the wrong thing so i went to zap another material and then i found out i actually zapped the right thing in the first place! hehehe anyway, went for skit prac after 2nd service and i'm so proud of my 3 skit guys.. William, Alex and Jonjon learned their lines and it really went better than i expected!!! That's one great obstacle over! And thank God for Ele too! Like i mean she's a great help and even took the initiative to make and send me the ppt slides.. :) God i know many times faithless things come out from my mouth but please help me be more thankful.. really...

Dismissed the skittles early cos they really worked so hard and cos all of us were tired too! After the draining week, we *attempted* to watch a movie. No good movie with good timings lah.. so we ended up just having dinner and walking around.. Alvin made a profound statement which the Lord has been emphasising to me. "The thrill is in the journey, not in the destination".. I'm going to dedicate another blog post on the subject cos it really contains a lot of truth...

Today (Monday) woke up late... did some research for SSA project... stayed at home all day except during mealtimes. Went to AMK Hub for dindin with Dot and Al. Yeah.. and now "tong hua" is stuck playing in my mind... when i got home, was in the midst of reading my Bible when a friend sent me a very strange message.. And I'm gonna blog about her situation to let you all know how blessed we are.

You see, she's going through persecution cos her father disapproves of her being a Christian. Their family has been following their Chinese religious tradition and i think she even gets beaten up by her father. After i received her message, I phoned my other friend (who's also a Christian) and my other friend was crying cos she's woried for her. Apparently, this girl's father told her not to hang around with his daughter. He even spoke to my other friend's parents and told them that he will beat her... The story's unresolved.. we can only pray for the best.

The point here is that if you're a comfortable Christian, understand what your fellow brothers and sisters are going through and treasure the fact that you dun have to go through them.. maybe not now at least. If you're a Christian who's going through the same thing, understand that you're not alone in suffering for your faith. There are others all around the world who suffer as much or even more than you do. In any case, be thankful cos God is at work and He will give us the grace to sustain us! If you're not a Christian, consider the agony that some of us have to go through for our faith and know that our faith is real cos our God is real! :D Hallelujah

"... we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Romans 5:3-5

God bless y'all!!! :D

Gatekeepers

I've been wanting to post this for a long time but haven't got to cos was kinda busy this week lah... I believe in posting what the Lord says so that those who read it may be encouraged in Him and that we'll all fall in together and align ourselves to the Lord's purposes this very hour... :) here goes...

Last week we had gatekeepers and i believe that we have come to a point in our ministry where we've reached a turning point in the spirit. We had a great time, the Holy Spirit ministered to ppl, and His presence was so strong in the place. The Lord showed me that the angel has already tipped the prayer bowl over (see Rev 8). That means that very soon, we'll be getting to see results... Hallelujah! :)

I sense that an angel has been sent on assignment to Sojourners ministry (and the chruch by implication) in the arrea of a healing revival. If we see this in a bigger context, we will find that the way that we're gonna have worship evangelism will change cos it's not just singing songs that speak into people's lives, it involves a demonstration of the power of God showing that Jesus saves, heals and delivers! Aren't you excited?? :)

And so in line with this, i sense the Lord wanting us to undertake a time, a season of preparation in May.. i'm not gonna say too much yet lah.. anyway, i strongly sense that through worship camp this year, the Lord will launch the ministry into the next level! Make your dates free, ladies and gentlemen: 21-23 June! :)

While praying with Alvin, the words that came to me were "spiritual revolution" and the word is "now"... not next year, not another time.. but now! Now is the time to move into and apprehend the Lord's plans and purposes for the ministry! Hallelujah!

We all need a measure of boldness. You see, the wind doesn't wait and take its own sweet time to decide whether to move or not... it just moves! Likewise, we should be bold in moving into His plans, His desires, his will! I'm currently reading the book of Acts now cos it seems that the Lord has been emphasising that quite a bit this year. I believe that it's time to act on what God has already said to us! It no longer a time of just sitting around listening to sermons and prophecies and going back unchanged. It's time to act, to move, to rehearse His signs and wonders! :D

One thing though that JK relased was "hardening of hearts". Val also saw stones last friday. To me, this is a word of caution, especially to the leaders and 2nd liners. The bible says in Hebrews that today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts... we find that because of unbelief, those who hardened their hearts were not able to enter into the promised land! Now is the season for us to enter into that so we should take care not to cut ourselves off from God. We should abide in Him, follow Him, obey Him and surrender every area of our lives that is not in line with Him! If you're doing something which you know you shouldn't be doing, leave it now! Yes, God grants grace but His grace is for a period. If you keep it up and harden your heart against Him, don't think that you will enter into His promise... Repent now and seek Him while you still have time!

It's time to move, church! :D
God bless y'all.. :)

DLCC revival meeting

Went to DLCC yesterday with Lalang and Ibu Eevie was there with Rev Charlie Robinson to minister. It was quite a fruitful session. Rev Charlie was prophesying that for those who've been fasting for the couple of weeks, they will get what they're seeking God for...

The sermon was really encouraging. The Lord was showing me how easy it is to enter into His glory... it's like entering into a spotlight by faith.. I tried it at home just now and it works just as well! We are carriers of His glory! :)

During the time of response to the message, Rev Charlie was talking about fire in the place and while we were engaging God, i felt the fire... i felt His presence come upon me like a mantle of heat again and it stayed for quite a long while! Rev Charlie also prophesied that there were healing mantles in the place (which I was grabbing and receiving by faith...). During that time the Lord also showed me a cloth extending from above. It had a number of colours... like the colour of wine on one side (lengthwise) and the colour of orange on the other. I pulled on it and i tied it on my hand and i pulled and pulled and pulled and pulled until i finally had it. The top was like olive green in colour. I thank God for it. I believe that it's actually a mantle from above... :) That's probably the time i felt the mantle of heat rest upon me... Praise the Lord... :)

Now, time to practice what i learned from the sermon... :)
God bless y'all! ;)

Ignite Conference

This week was probably one of the more tiring weeks for me, especially since i went for ignite conference from sunday to tuesday... but the Lord gives me His grace lah.

It wasn't easy chasing after ppl for registrations and it can be quite tiring also lah since i already had a couple of things to do but it was worth it cos i believe that those who came for the conference were impacted by God and I believe that there has been a breakthrough in our lives and our lives are never gona be the same again.

The worship was refreshing lah cos we got to jump around and dance before the Lord. I believe the Lord spoke to us in His own way during the conference.

The first night was hilarious as Pastor Glen preached his message. He really knows how to add humour to his sermon! The morning sessions were more intense than the night ones. On the first morning, Pastor Pat shared about the whirlwind of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit was really there. When I went up to the altar, I really felt His presence so strongly, even like a mantle of heat and i was there for quite some time crying out and weeping before Him. God is real! There were certain things that i resolved in my life through this conference. After the morning sessions, we went for lunch and took some time walking around finding a place to eat. Then we came back for the workshops and JK and I attended the leaders' session and it was also very eye-opening and God spoke to me through the message :)

On the 2nd night, Pastor Pat shared on the earthquakes that God brings about. When we were having a time of response to the message, he was saying that we receive our freedom form bondage through worship and that that's how the world will also receive their freedom... The Lord spoke to my heart saying that that's how you bring forth the treasure- when the bondages are broken... Then during the worship, i saw an open treasure chest open before me. To me that talks about the kingdom of God within people and how the kingdom of God advances as bondages are broken.

Oh yeah.. and during that night Pastor Pat released healing to whoever needed it.. and i had this ulcer in my mouth which was giving me some trouble for quite a while but then after that night, it felt better and it went off completely a few days later! Like i mean it's been there for like more than a week lah.. Praise the Lord! :)

Met Joyce and caught up with her cos haven't seen her in quite a bit.. oh yeah.. and THOP was there too... Terrence gave us a lift from Bedok central to the venue and he also sent some of us home! Really thank God for His gracious provision! :)

That night, I had a dream where the Lord was speaking to me about the Ignite t-shirt that i bought. Cos the title of the conference is Relentless and that's what's printed on the shirt. And the Lord was showing me that the pursuit is more important than the end, that our pursuit has to be relentless and how the process is more important than the reward that we may receive at the end of it.

I didn't go for the 3rd morning session cos I had school and i had to take my TS1101E test. I was trusting in the Lord to carry me through the test even though i was quite tired and had quite a busy schedule... but His grace is sufficient, yeah? ;)

I went for the evening session and I took a bus from school that took me directly to Bedok.. but it was such a long journey.. anyway, as the bus was on its way to bedok central, i decided to get off one stop early and cross the road cos bus 222 woud still pass by that bus stop before going to the venue. When the bus came, it was so full of young ppl coming from Bedok central on their way to the conference and i couldn't even get on board the double-decker bus lah! :P haha... so anyway, i waited for the next 222... the 229 showed up and i felt a prompting from the Holy Spirit to board the bus.. but i didn't wanna take the risk lah... so i waited again and 222 didn't show up for a long while and i started to think what would happen if the next 222 that comes by was just as packed! So the Lord graciously sent another 229. Then i took it and it stopped just a few metres from the church so i could have walked there and saved a lot of time if i took the first 229 in the first place! Lessoned learned: Don't go against the promptings of the Holy Spirit! And learn to step out of your comfort zone...

Before the sermon, had another chance to talk to joyce and her friends.. i met one of her fellow church mates and i found out that he knew one of my other friends. Now here's the interesting thing... i've been trying to reach out to this friend of mine for quite a while but i haven't seen him already in a very long time lah so i've been wondering how he's been getting along. Then I met joyce's frens and found out that they've been reaching out to him! Hallelujah! Praise God... :D

The sermon that night spoke to me lah and after that there was a time of impartation... Terrence sent all of us back again in the evening lah... In the bus, i felt that the prophethic anointing was still upon me and so the Lord used me to speak His wisdom into the lives of some people. God's really great! :) Thank God that He's leading me higher and higher into His plans and purposes.. :)

Zion Convention

Popped down to zion convention yesterday with *i***** for their night meeting and it was quite packed lah... It was a fruitful evening cos the Lord gave me the opportunity to speak some truth into his life and share about God and what He has done in my life... :) Also gained some insights from the sermon.. The Lord also impressed upon me to buy this book about the Bride of Christ and it only went for $10... And guess wad... when the meeting ended, we went down and we saw a whole group of the youth from Cornerstone selling away the leftover t-shirts from the Ignite conference... haha... it was quite interesting lah... :D

On my way home, i met Hu-Lin on the bus... sat right next to him and din even recognise him.. haven't seen him in a very long time... he seems to be getting along pretty well.. :)

This morning went to school on the bus and i believe the Lord was speaking to me as i took a short nap on the bus. I sensed that someone serving in CC is discouraged lah... Cos sometimes when we dun really see results in the ministry, we have a tendency to fall into that... but I'm holding onto His promise:

And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here... Romans 13:11-12a

Revival is near! can you smell it?? ;)

While at SSA1202 today, they had that usual talk about becoming a Southeast Asia major. They had some different profs from the department to come down and speak to us and guess wad.. there was a lady there who teaches Bahasa Indo and when she came up to speak, i felt the presence of the Holy Spirit there with me (some recognise it as goosebumps).. and so i felt that perhaps the Holy Spirit wants me to learn the language and it could also be another confirmation about me becoming a missionary to Indonesia lah... :)

Before going to zion convention yesterday, went for Date with God and we prayed for the country of India. The Lord impressed upon my heart that there's gonna be and earthquake in India and it will open doors in the region. It will coincide with the de-throning of a principality over that region and we will see that the veil that covers many people's eyes and prevents them from knowing the Lord and His gospel shall come off! Hallelujah!

Watch and pray, brothers and sisters...
God bless y'all... :)

Update

havent blogged in a long while... so here's another long update on what's been going on... starting from last week

7 March Wednesday
Went to school for DG in the afternoon and went for Wednesday Prayer Meeting in church in the evening... Prayer meeting went great. it really makes a difference when you're just playing the keyboard and when the Holy Spirit takes over... errol was WL and he asked me to help him out.. at first when i came, i found it kinda difficult to flow, especially cos he was playing at a tempo that i wasn't used to.. but later during free worship, the Holy Spirit took over and it was just refreshing lah... thank God :) The Lord impressed upon me the verse Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes all things to work for the good of those who love Him, who called according to His purpose.

I believe it wasnt just for me but for other ppl as well... :) ok then while we broke up into groups to pray, uncle Jem assigned me to pray for Children's Church. Before I came for the prayer meeting, I asked the Lord to be upon me, I asked the Holy Spirit to take over my prayers and while praying, i felt the anointing come upon me like a mantle of heat and what i was prayig for regarding CC was that the Lord would send labourers to us. We also prayed against and repented of the mindset that despises the children's ministry, thinking that it is small, thinking that it is significant... i dunno if you've ever thought that way...

8 March Thursday
Had TS1101E in the morning and guess wad- we had to dance with a partner... not exactly my cup of tea really but it went ok lah.. then went for SC1101E tutorial. Met up with Uncle Jem in the evening for mentoring session...

9 March Friday
T'was one of those weird days in school where it felt like nothing really happened. cos i was late for my history lecture and when i came in the 2nd half, all we did was watch a movie. Then i went for SSA1202 lecture and we watched this really horrible movie... -4 stars really... Glad i went for gatekeepers. A lot of interesting things happened that i think i'll blog another time...

10 March Saturday
It's been a long time since i last missed a youth service. It was one of those rare occasions that i didnt even step in church at all the whole day. I went for Desmond's wedding in the afternoon and then went to watch this play at UCC for my TS1101E assignment. It was alright lah.. better than i expected. The whole time i was playing around with my cam phone and taking all those warped shots.. haha...

11 March Sunday
In the morning woke up from a dream... i saw my physics lecturer from last sem talking about some physics about temperature.. and he said something like things don't go from hot to cold straight away but they slowly get lukewarm first... or something liddat... cant really remember lah... but it sure reminded me about what we studied from the LG material about how ppl slowly turn away from God...

Went for New Team as usual and JK was the one sharing on prayer. She also debunked a few mindsets that ppl may have about prayer and it really went well lah.. i realised that today, Rev Fred was talking about prayer also in the main service. .. and i took it as a confirmation of what we received during gatekeepers.. God is moving all of us in the same direction yeah... :D
Took the 2nd liners for the session on finding a life partner and then went to prac skit in the afternoon... i'm happy that things are slowly starting to take shape lah... :)

Went for ignite conference in the evening and it was interesting lah... i think i'll blog about it in a separate post...

12-13 March Mon-Tues
Ignite conference... well mostly, till i had a test on tuesday so i had to be in school...

14 March Wednesday
Went to meet Ashley and Jen in the morning to discuss project and guess wad.. ashley had the same thoughts that i did... do a project on food.. :P hahaha... went for SSA1202 tutorial after that which was quite slack. we watched a video abt how the minority grps in other countries really live a hard life.. and my heart really goes out to them lah.. Short time of DG in the afternoon and went to play guit for engage for a while...

Went for prayer meeting in the evening. Auntie Ivy suddenly swapped worship leading duty with me the last minute but it still went alright lah... i wanna see changes man.. extravagant worship in our church.. i'm fed up that when people come to worship, the WL always seems to like "give in to the ppl" like pacify the ppl, make them feel good, etc.. like coax them to worship, like being a salesman trying to sell to them the idea of worshipping God, which should be more than a natural response really, considering what Christ has done... WRONG FOCUS, ladies and gentlemen... your eyes should be on God, not on yourselves! I don't care what you went through during the week or whatever. You're in church to worship God. period. otherwise, you should be somewhere else... Worship Leaders, heed my advice- it's not about the people... it's never about the people! Amen? :)

15 March Thursday
went for HY2247 screening and then went for TS practicals.. finally performed that short page.. haha memorised the whole monologue on the bus on my way to school... glad that it's done....

Satan Wants to Destroy You

Monday was a slack day.. stayed at home the whole time. Finally got to send the mails that i wanted.. Apparently IGNITE has a website: www.ignite-asia.org and i dind't even know it.. registered those coming for the conference liao.. but they said that there's walk-in registration so if YOU still wanna go for the conference, lemme know lah.. :)

I contacted the lighting man for connection 33:3 and guess wad.. he sent me a quotation right away and gave us another huge discount lah! looks like God is giving us favour in this area.. :)

So anyway, spent part of the day trying to move stuff from my old phone to my new one.. and i found out the hard way that there's no such thing as transferring your saved messages over.. wah.. cos there are a lot of impt messages i stored in my old phone.. looks like i have to copy them by hand.. :( Anyway, i asked rayson in the evening to send out a prayer request concerning my sociology test the next day. Then someone sent me an encouragement regarding the test. Cos i was in the midst of moving my phone contacts, only the number appeared on my phone so i din know at first who sent it.. then i got the sojourners contact list and checked and realised that it was clara! I mean like it was a nice surprise to receive an encouragement from her liddat and i din expect it.. little things count yeah! i'm thankful for that.. :D

Tuesday... had my long day as usual.. soci test wasn't so bad.. ate brownies from the bussiness fac.. :9 went to AMKHub after sch to get some stuff and met Ele there.. haha.. walked around with her for a while den went home. Oh... and there's something interesting that i noticed while i was watching TV in the evening.. at one point, i muted the sound of the TV and closed my eyes to pray with the TV in front of me. Then, with my eyes closed, i kinda felt some evil presence and when i opened my eyes, i saw the TV and it was an advertisement for that horror show the messengers. What is interesting is that you can still feel the change in atmosphere even when you're not watching or listening to it. Cos these kind of movies originate from the demonic realm. Fear is one weapon that the evil one uses to destroy us. Anyways it goes to show the power of the TV and the media... i believe that they send out more than just messages... And imagine the potential when they're used for the kingdom of God! which brings me to my next point..

i guess you're prolly wondering by now what's with the ominous title of my post rite? It's cos yesterday during the EN2113 lecture, we watched a documentary talking about media industry and how they are explicitly seeking out the youth cos this is the generation of youth with the greatest population and with a lot of $pending power. Can you imagine? people pay big dollar$ to come and try to catch your attention so that they can $ell their products... but they're not only selling their products- they're selling a lifestyle.. they're perpetuating materialism, consumerism and an entire culture amongst the young generation that is totally opposite to kingdom values. They capitalise on sex to sell their products while satan rides on the giant wave of mass media to sell his kingdom! MTV comes up with some horribly graphic programming selling debauchery, sexual promiscuity and a life of party and make every other teen think this is normal! I dunno whether it's also liddat on this side of the world but thank God for a government that does well on censorship. Perhaps there are a lot of things they could improve upon but that's one area that i pray they won't compromise in! My point here is this: top executives are willing to pay top dollar to grab the youth's attention. They want to speak their language... but it's more than just a consumer issue.. it's more than a battle for their attention, it's a battle for their souls! My point here is this- what's the church doing about it??? i mean like... these companies go all out to seek these kids and that's what the church should be doing- speaking their language and going all out to seek them. But what happens instead? everyone's so comfortable in their pews, going about their usual weekend church routine, living out mediocrity.. seriously.. talking about a rejected generation.. how many churches go all out to seek the youth of this generation?? but that's what's satan is doing! he's seeking you out.. we are at the threshold of the greatest revival that the world will ever see and what are we doing to prepare for it??

One more thing.. the Holy Spirit was speaking to me while watching the documentary concerning the devil's strategy- which is not so different from God's (satan should be charged with plagiarism).. the devil is raising up people who will carry his messages out to the youth of this world to destroy them and destroy their destiny and attempt to disqualify them from their part in this great end-time revival. I saw Limp Bizkit in the documentary as an example.. they are those that the devil raised up for such a time as this to bring the youth of today to the pit of distruction.. there are others... perhaps too many to name.. he grants them influence and uses them to bring noise, to bring chaos, to use the medium of heavenly worship, music, to unleash the destructive potential latent in the human soul! That's just one out of many...

Now the Spirit of the Lord is looking, he's searching the earth, going to and fro to strengthen those whose heart is fully committed to Him. The Lord is raising up people for such a time as this. Many faceless individuals who have not bowed down and kissed the feet of Baal. Ps 110:3 talks about the army of God, about the young people arrayed in holy splendor who's gonna go forth in the day of battle. This is the day of battle. We are in the last days.. so what are you waiting for? take up your heavenly armor and arm yourselves with heavenly weapons and fight! There has to be a strength-to-strength opposition. Who's gonna raise the standard?? who's gonna resist the tide of the evil one? Get up from your pews, young people. Get on your knees. Turn off that computer and stop watching TV. Lay aside every sin... now.. dun let yourself get left behind when God moves. Amen? :)

My wise cousin said this when i was in Philippines, "are you going to let MTV disciple your children?" If we dun teach them the superior lifestyle of the kingdom of God, they're gonna turn to the counterfeit. Satan wants to destroy you but God wants to raise you. You see the strategy? satan raises up people... God raises up people... We're not talking about methods, programmes or whatever.. we're talking about souls. Are you willing for the Lord to raise you up?? :)

His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and His dominion endures throughout all generations!

Halelujah! God bless ya! ;)

P.S. btw, if you think you're gonna get away with just by being passive and casual about it all, you're gonna end up a casualty!

Weekends

Was quite busy on saturday lah...had to do a number of stuff... stayed at home in the morning but went to church in the early afternoon.. joined misait for a short while and later did my own stuff.. it was one of those moody days i had again...

When home immediately after youth service to de-stress... when i'm feeling down, i usually like to eat nice food so decided to check out that crab place that RJ was telling me abt.. it was just a quick walk from my house and when i went there, i ordered this "creamy butter crab dish" which seemed quite popular.. then the auntie told me i had to wait ard half an hour for them to cook it.. since i ordered a take-away, i decided to wait at a bench near one of the blocks near the coffee shop. So i was there alone and i was talking to God and the Holy Spirit was working in my heart... cos i was getting frustrated with a lot of things.. but thank God for His presence and that He is still faithful even when we're not... :)

Sunday went for new team as usual and alvin shared on QT. I enjoyed the presence of God in the place. One of the things he said which impressed me is that he said something like praying to God "take me where you are" or something liddat.. and it got me thinking.. one of the thoughts that stayed with me that time was that most of the time, we meet God on our own terms instead of meeting Him on His terms.. and do you know that His terms are actually much easier?? It really is.. Many times, we're too hard on ourselves and we make it soooo difficult for us to approach God.. but the Lord's terms is just faith.. simply that.. (Heb 11) not based on what we've done but on what He's done.. and His terms are more beneficial. His terms are heavenly and they carry the weight of His promise.. a bruised reed he will not break and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out.. he wun deny us when we come to Him in brokenness and contrition.. we can't meet Him on a basis of fallen man, of a fallen imagination, of a fallen form of wisdom and thinking... but He sets the standards.. but though He sets the standards, he gives us the grace to fulfill them.. and meeting Him on His own terms, on His own standards, on His own realm is much more glorious than meeting Him on ours..

After new team sharing, had a session with misait and then went upstairs to teach in CC.. then, i heard **a******* sing and her voice just caught my attention! She has a really nice and anointed voice!!! Wow.. i mean i heard her sing before but this is the first time i actually noticed it and paid attention. Really thank God for all the talented ppl He placed in our midst... :) In the afternoon, had skit rehearsal for connection 33:3 with william, alex, jonjon and ele... I'm glad that they stayed back and gave some of their time in doing the Lord's work, especially since alex and jonjon have tests this week... I pray that all of us will learn from their example and put the kingdom of God first in our lives... :D (hehe... i know i'm stepping on some ppl's toes but truth is truth lah... :P)

After church, went to eat dinner with al, arun, jk and serene at NYNY at AMKHub... Actually, the more i go to NYNY, the less fanciful the experience becomes.. but they do have good quality of service though! :) Then went for dot's sch band concert.. was quite interesting lah..

When I got home, my mom apparently got me a new phone and she also upgraded and got me the same one as hers.. she has a red one while i have a black one.. i think it's a sonyericsson k610i or something liddat lah.. I think i'll take quite long to get used to this phone cos the phone that i have now has been with me for more than 2 yrs and i've never had a phone other than a nokia... i guess it's time to change anyway cos my old phone is "dying" lah. Thank God for blessing me.. Hallelujah. :)

Dear God, grant me the grace to live for you in every area of my life.. in school, at home, with friends, with classmates... Many times, living for you can be quite the roller coster ride but Lord, You promised me the abundant life and i will settle for no less than that! Teach me how to live, teach me your ways and may everything that I do be for Your glory! :) Amen.

Prayer Warriors

Yesterday went to school in the morning for lessons and during lunch, got my tooth checked with the dentist. Looks like it's doing fine.. thank God.. :)

After school, headed down to meet William and went for dinner at Pepper Lunch.. then we went for prayer warriors meeting at YMCA. Was so blessed during the meeting yesterday. It's been very long since i last went for a meeting like that..

So anyway, here's a few things that i believe that the Lord was speaking to me during worship...

During the worship, i saw a lamp and the light from it was getting brighter and brighter and i saw it placed above a globe and the light from the lamb shining onto it. To me it represents the gospel. The verse came into my mind; For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the seas. -Habbakuk 2:14

I went home was meditating on what these all means and the LORD was telling me about Joseph and the governmental anointing that he had. He possessed a storehouse of wisdom from which the nation benefited in the time of crisis. Likewise, in the last days, there's gonna be an increase in wickedness and things are gonna happen and the world and its governments will turn to those that possess the wisdom to deal with all these issues.

I also saw a key and i received it. Then the scripture John 3:16 came to me: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. I was meditating on this verse when i got back home and i was kinda thinking what kind of key is this cos it's like so basic and everybody knows this verse... then i began to realise that not everybody knows what it means. This verse doesnt just talk about salvation or going to heaven. It talks about life- eternal life. The thing is that we have been undermining the power and benefits of our salvation. The enemy comes to steal kill and destroy but Jesus has come so that we may have abundant life... He has come so that we may have eternal life and not perish with the world. Truly this world is wasting away but we who are His people must have the power of His Word in us, His life. The key is when we believe in Him, in who He is, in what He has done, we may now partake of His life- perpetual life, eternal life, now, here on earth! 24/7. having an abundance of life and perishing in no way at all. This should be the normality. This is what the Christian life should be. The people of God should be living in abundance, so filled with life and so filled with glory that the world has to notice! The world which is perishing and wasting away has to stop and think and see the abundance we have and desire it, and pursue it and believe in the One who is the author of it! Hallelujah! Something to think about...

Shalom! ;)

New Every Morning

Recently i just realised what it means that the Lord's mercies are new every morning... it's in the Bible somewhere in Lamentations i think... Cos sometimes, when i find myself far from God cos of something that I've done the day before, when I repent of it, I find that His mercies are new each day... as in literally, i will still experience Him anew and afresh each day after that. Now, many people dunno how to experience this cos what they do is that instead of moving on, they get caught up with the guilt of what they have done and they dwell on that and they go nowhere... But thank God that He receives us on His terms, that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah! :)

Isn't He wonderful? ;)

Update

Ok... i hope i remember what's been going on... :P

24 Feb Saturday
Had skit practice with William, Ele and Alex in the afternoon for connection 33:3 before the special service. It was quite tiring lah cos i got to talk a lot but it was still quite enjoyable.. glad that it's all starting to come together. I really thank the Lord! Thank God for providing the inspiration! Thank God for providing the people to act in the skit! Thank God for giving the grace and skill to work on it and teach it to others! Thank God for the energy to carry it out though sometimes, i can get quite tired! It's really by His grace! :D I really believe that God will use the skit to speak to believers and non-believers alike and that it will challenge them to live their lives differently! Curious at what it's all about? Come for Connection 33:3, 7 April at Salem Chapel... ask Chris for the details..

Well anyway, was teaching someone about worship dance on Saturday. That person has quite a teachable heart lah.. which is quite encouraging. When i was just talking to him and teaching him the significance of the different worship tools, i felt the presence of the Holy Spirit with me and i believe that I was actually speaking truth to him. It was quite fun teaching some of the basics for the instruments lah, especially to those who are really interested to learn... maybe i should do it more frequently. I pray that the Lord will raise up more worship warriors among men to dance before Him as David did! Amen! :D

Pastor James shared a very good and challenging message during the special meeting on fasting and prayer. Lord, I pray that You grant me the grace to do that.. You know that I've been slacking lately. Please help me to pick up my pace and align myself with You. In Jesus' Name... anyway, one of the words he released concerning the youth was something about mindset. This is something that i believe the Lord is speaking to all of us and highlighting to us in this particular season. We need to war against mindsets, ungodly mindsets, preventing us from entering into the fullness of his plans and purposes!

25 Feb Sunday
Went for new team in the morning and Val did a good job sharing for new team. Then i was experimenting trying out harmony lines for vocalist training. It went ok lah i suppose... Then had servers cell and servers meeting in the afternoon. I pray that God will continue to guide us and align us with his purposes, and not allow any distractions to get in our way. We need the kingdom mindset, the kingdom perspective, to see things in a larger, clearer perspective, to see things from His point of view. Lord, lead us on by Your Holy Spirit! :D

26 Feb Monday
Stayed home and- Hallelujah!- got some work done... then went for a long walk in the evening...

27 Feb Tuesday
had my usual long day. had to submit my essay for EN2113 and Liz offered to print it out for me! Thank God for her! After school, went to Lucky Plaza to do some observations for fieldtrip report...

On my way to school, while i was praying on the bus, the words on the 300 poster (found in many bus stops) caught my attention (not that i necessarily approve of the show, btw). It said "Prepare for Glory". It caught my attention cos I believe that we are in a season of preparation. That's what all the shakings and all the testings and the prunings are for. It is to prepare us for the glory that is ahead of us. It is to prepare us for God's purposes that He wants to bring to pass on the earth today. So let's persevere through whatever circumstances that may come along the way, recognising God's hand in them to make us who He wants us to be! :)

28 Feb Wednesday
Had another interesting tutorial for SSA1202. And guess wad... I'm doing a project with Si Min and Jennifer and Wei Lin... God really does open doors! hahaha... had DG in the afternoon and then went for prayer meeting.

On my way for prayer meeting, met Nic Yau and Nic Low on the bus! Nic Yau was in the front while Nic Low was sitting at the back... what a coincidence cos it's both NICs.. haha.. And when i arrived in church for prayer meeting, i found it odd that there was a buffet table outside and when i stepped into the sanctuary, i found that there was quite a number of people who came! And then i remembered that there was a wedding going on! haha so i disappeared from the scene and made my way up to 11A. btw, Congrats Raja!!! :) Prayer meeting was interesting. What Auntie Esther shared spoke to me cos she also spoke about the preparation that has to be made for the King of Glory to come! Then we did something different from the usual by gathering in one birg circle and praying corporately instead of just in small groups like before. The Holy Spirit was there and the time we had was quite refreshing lah. And what i sensed to pray for was the preparation process- for God to prepare us for the coming move of His Spirit; that we will align ourselves with him and His agenda, not with man's agenda. This brings me to the topic on blueprint which i wrote about before. Auntie Ivy mentioned those exact words "blue print" when she prayed for the youth and CC. She prayed for the souls that are going to come into His kindom during connection 33:3 as we continue to seek God, to pray and to intercede and cry out to Him. She also prayed something about getting the blue print from the Lord on what He wants to do for Connection 33:3 and not relying on programmes. So Lord, I pray that You establish Your work in our midst, in Jesus' Name! Hallelujah!

1 Mar Thursday
Had HY2247 screening and TS practicals. Thank God that Mat printed out an extra set of practical notes. Cos i was having some trouble printing it out the night before. But God provided anyway! :D Hallelujah! Praise God!

Thank God that i also managed to find some time to do and finish the fieldtrip report quickly and easily so that i could submit it before the deadline. :) Went to J8 after school and then went home. On my way home, met RJ on the bus and she told me where the famous crab place was in AMK!!! Now I finally know where it is and it's actually quite near my house!!! Okok... anyone wanna join me for makan, just message me :9...

Hallelujah! God bless y'all!!! ;)

Gatekeepers

Wah...haven't post for so long...okok... lemme recall what's been happening...

Ok so after the prayer convocation ended with its last morning session on friday last week, Val and I had lunch and then took a long bus ride to Ang Mo Kio. During the bus ride, the Lord was speaking to me in a dream and i saw myself in that dream and though the details are kinda hazy there was like a dark figure there... my guss is that he was perhaps someone sent to disturb me... but anyway, what's important is that the Lord spoke to me: "I am with you". During this time of shaking, it is comforting to know that the Lord is with me to see me through it... :)

So went for Gatekeepers in the evening and one of the things that came to me were the words "circumcision of the heart". In Sojourners ministry, the Lord is preparing us to enter the Land but before Joshua conquered the various strongholds in the land after he crossed the Jordan, all of Israel with him was circumcised. The Lord is dealing with all of us right now on our heart issues and those things that are keeping us from Him. These things are necessary cos they're there to prepare us for the times ahead. Though perhaps this season of pruning and shaking may be difficult and painful, God will see us through! :) The circumcision of the heart is a work of grace, a work of the Holy Spirit inside of us. So it's not outward circumcision that matters but an inward attitude, an inner work that marks us among God's people; that is, His work of discipline in our lives that is there so that we may be more fruitful! Hallelujah.

During Gatekeepers, the Lord was also speaking to my heart about not putting others down. So here's to everyone that if i may have, directly or indirectly put you down in one way or another, please forgive me.

Hallelujah! God bless y'all! :)
