The Lesser gods...

have been waiting very long to post this entry...

A few weeks back...
Sitting down in front of the computer, i tucked myself in my favourite corner.. I had my dinner with me as i made myself comfortable. I eagerly anticipated those episodes of Tsubasa Chronicle that i was gonna watch through my computer during that evening. Then there was Someone from within me speaking to me... It seemed as if He too had some longing in His voice as He gently reminded me that there was a time when people used to eat with people, when people would commune with people, not computers... I paused for a while yet i dismissed it in my resolve to lose myself in the Anime world...

Ok.. as some of you may have read, my monitor broke down on Monday and it really made me think about some things.. cos when i came back home on Tuesday and there was no computer to use, i felt very restless... And many times, we find out how important things have become in our lives when they're taken away. So i realised how much of a little god the computer has become. Even without the computer though, my restlessness compelled me to it's lesser cousin, the television... or even perhaps it's lesser primary school cousin- the story book. Still restless, i believed that the Lord was calling me back to Him, to still myself before Him and to commune with Him once again... so i picked up my guitar.. and tried out a few songs.. while still at the fast songs, i already felt the presence of God there with me in the living room. Then i really entered into worship, pouring my heart out to the Lord, shedding lots of tears along the way. It was a marvellous time of worship I had. It made me realise how much i've been caught up with the lesser gods rather than experiencing the real One who longs to commune with me even more than i do... Thank you Jesus... Thank You that despite the many times i've failed You, You're still willing to seek me out with Your Spirit.. cos You never let me leave the palm of Your hand...

Sometimes, we never realise how much of a god something has become in our lives until the Lord takes it away...
