Some Thoughts
Went for Prayer Meeting on wednesday and there were just some things that impressed me while Pasto Ban was sharing...
He was continuing with the series on overcoming bondages and it just got me thinking about this analogy: When we don't know Christ, we're like in a prison and we're under the power of sin and death but when we know Christ, He actually opens the door so we can get out of prison. The thing is, some of us choose to stay in the prison instead of just simply walking out of it. God has opened the door for us already to live the fulness of freedom and life that He has planned for us since the beginning of humanity. However, some of us choose to stay in poverty, some of us choose to stay in bondage instead of living out the life that He has prepared for us. I mean when He frees us of a particular sin or bondage, we have to move out of that situation, that environment that besets us. Like when we know that alcohol will get us drunk, we dun reason out or rationalise "i'm just gonna take one little sip.. what's the harm in that?" After all, kings dun behave like paupers, rite? ;)
Another thought that came to my mind was that the reason why satan is changing the world and making it more and more messed up is cos he's challenging the power of the Word of God to transcend time and cultural boundaries, he's challenging the relevance of the Word of God in today's generation... what i mean is that one of the main messages that he's telling the world nowadays is that the Bible is obsolete, that the principles recorded in God's Word is no longer applicable in view of today's society, environment and culture. Don't be fooled! Don't be deceived! The Bible and it's principles are eternal, it will never change, it will never pass away.. Though heaven and earth will pass away, His Word will never.. Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is the same yesterday, today and forever! Hallelujah...
While walking home, one of the things that came into my mind was on the idea of structure... Cos some ppl may not really like structure, restrictions or boring stuff like that... so anyway, this is a continuation of my post sometime back regarding structure.. Some ppl prefer a sovereign move of God that just throws the ppl into a whole mood of celebration during revival.. Though there's a place for that, i realised that when the river flows, the river flows within a certain structure, a certain framework, it's governed by the river banks and the tributaries upon which it flows.. that's how we can recognise it as a river in the first place. As the water flows within the path of the river, so does the Holy Spirit move within structure too! :)
That's why the apostolic ministry talks about building cos they establish a certain structure and order, patterned after the Lord's plans.. They are used by God to release strategies to the body of Christ to advance His Kingdom. The Holy Spirit moves within these structures to accomplish His purpose! :) Also, it is God who positions the members of the church according to the callings, giftings and graces that He has placed upon each member. That's why if everyone is in the right place at the right time with the right ppl for the right purpose, we're gonna see the Kingdom of God advance in great ways!
When the tent pegs are in place, then when the ppl enter the tent, the tent won't collapse...
