Meditations



Had only one class yesterday then went to meet Evan at the crusade corner to discuss the MCing lah..haha... it was fun... she took this photo using her ibook... Campus Crusade had an an evangelistic event yesterday and quite a number of people showed up lah.. Evan and I were MCs.. the event went quite well lah and i went home early, later, Evan called me to tell me what happened in the debrief.. apparently, 11 people received Christ and lots more want to know about God!! Praise the Lord!!

Today had video screening for sport and history and they showed gladiators...i was glad that i watched gladiators (though they seemed quite sad to me..)... the first time i watched it, i just thought that it was some really sad movie where some ppl fought each other and the main actor died in the end.. but now, it seems i understand the movie better and i realised that it was actually quite well done...

ok now for the emo part... i'm always very frustrated that my walk with God seems very unsteady... like it goes up one day and then it goes down the next.. like within one week there would be several peaks and also several troughs.. even within the day, i feel close to Him one moment and then it would be different sometime later.. and sometimes, all it takes is for one negative thought to get me thinking a whole series of negative thoughts.. and these things rob me of my joy... and this shouldn't be the case really.. it's not how the Christian life should be..

Like Evan taught me a lesson yesterday of how i've been taking God for granted.. cos she showed me how she was amazed at how God used us both as MCs, at how many people received Him that night, at how well the event went thanks to Him, etc... and to me it was just like normal... i don't want to lose that child-likeness! I don't want to be so hardened that my eyes and ears are shut to the way God shows Himself faithful everyday. I want to be thankful for the big things and, especially, the little things cos it reveals my heart...

I realised that a lot depends on what i think upon, what i meditate upon... when i meditate on good and lovely things, on God Himself, i become more thankful of Him and the things that He does in my life. When i think on disappointmens, resentments, past failures, etc, they get to me too.. then they start robbing me of my joy in Him... Lord, help me keep my eyes on you...

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things. -Philippians 4:8

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yield its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.
