Youth Camp
Wow.. it's been a long while since i blogged... anyways, i wanna blog about the youth camp cos it was one of the most important events that i look forward to during the hols
Day1
We met up in church earlier than everyone else to practice for the songs cos i was supposed to play guitar and keys for the first worship session... Den during the practice, i was just feeling all so distracted and inadequate with the instruments and everything just sounded quite awkward lah.. was very unprepared but thank God everything went all right. The worship session turned out well. really thank God for His grace. Den after that we were supposed to set our expectations for the camp. i had 4: 1. to see one of my giftings coming to the fore, 2. to receive a fresh vision from God regarding the ministry for the coming year 3. to minister to people and 4. to receive breakthrough in my own personal life. I'm glad that all 4 have been met to some measure lah during the camp...
I was quite high during lunchtime lah... also dunno why...maybe was quite excited for the camp.. it rained a good deal throughout the day. When we reached the campsite, some of the guys got really drenched ferrying equipment from the bus to the chalet. Anyway, after settling down, we had ice breakers. It was quite fun lah...especially if someone else tells you about yourself and den you go like "hey, i never said that"... haha.. painting the group banner was quite fun too, thanks to alicia's creative juices. That day, we also found quite a number of alternative ways for using a hairdryer.
Session 1 was very fruitful. God was really in the place. Uncle Paul shared practically on things that would help us get closer to God. I really enjoyed that session. Amanda also led an anointed time of worship. I was really happy seeing some of us meeting and experiencing God!
Day 2
It rained the whole day yesterday but today God heard our prayers and gave us a miraculously sunny weather overnight! Pastor lawrence shared for Session 2 and it also spoke to me cos sometimes, i had a tendency of feeling guilty/unworthy of coming to God but the session reminded me of God's grace and how no one can take me away from His hand! :)
During the afternoon, we had a fun time playing games. The treasure hunt really finished very quickly lah but it was still quite fun. After that, we played Abel's puzzle game which really took a long time to prepare. Thank God that He sent the clouds and a slight drizzle that afternoon to refresh us cos prolly some of us were feeling quite hot and tired under the sun.. The breeze was refreshing, the games were exciting..
had a "joy ride" in unca jem's car while he was fetching some ppl.. had a fun time talking to alex on the way.. really encouraged by his child-like faith in God.. :)
Session 3 was ok lah... prolly some of us were quite tired during the session so it was hard for us to kinda focus but i believe God still spoke to us in His own way.. :)
Day 3
Today was also a fruitful day lah though we didn't have much on the programme
Session 4 in the morning was ok lah... I thank God for giving many of us a spiritual breakthrough in our walk with Him! Cos you see, we are the body of Christ. we're all connected... if one part receives a breakthough, the whole body rejoices! Was playing keys in the morning with Amanda.. haha and i told her something lame... hehe she said something lyk she was only playing main (keys) for the first song and then i was the main for the rest of the rest of the songs.. then i told her that i was the main and that she's the FEmain... hahaha.. :P nvm if u dun get it.. Now Alvin got more reasons to smack his forehead... "anoint me with fresh oil..." :D
We all watched Narnia in the afternoon.. God impressed upon me three things abut the movie:
1. That we all should start acting like family- loving each other, supporting one another, encouraging one another, not bickering over petty issues lah.. :P
2. That winter is ending and SPRING is coming- i got a lot to say about this
3. That just because some guy in a red coat hands u a sword doesnt make u a hero- Chris, dun be so gei khiang!! You are not the saviour of the world!! Relek lah brudder... :P
After that, had some free time.. Alvin stayed back to clean up the bunk, sweep the floor, arrange all the music cables and equipment, pick up water bottles, etc.. whoever's reading this can learn a few points from our Youth Chairman.. the reason why he's at the top is cos he's learned how to be a servant.. all of us will do well following his example... :)
The last session was good... I was supposed to take the worship session and we had a great time! Thank you, my dear musicians, for all your hard work and effort.. When we started preparing the place and praying in the spirit, God was already there! =D Thank You, God, for being there! Pastor Lawrence shared a short message and then we worshipped and had a time of ministry.. it truly warms my heart to see ppl worshipping the Lord and desiring Him, especially the younger ones..
After everything was over, we had some makan and den we spent quite some time chatting and telling funny stories to one another.. Aaron couldn't stop laughing...haha.. Den before i went to sleep i went to disturb the three musketeers, i.e. Jon Jr, Rayson and Abel...haha..
Thank You, Daddy God for such a wonderful camp, for wonderful friends and for everything lah..
Day 4
We went to pack up cos we were leaving for home.. we all came back and read through the letters that some ppl wrote.. Glad how God is drawing people closer to Himself! =D Went back home to sleep...zzzzz tired lah but enjoyed myself... :D
