Divine Appointments

Dropped by Miss Clarity cafe yesterday... the one near Dot's house... it looks quite cosy enough.. and guess wad.. i found a mini poster there listing out the fruit of the Spirit.. i guess their owner is Christian.. so that makes it a whole lot easier if we were to go and have an evangelistic event there.. i saw the first page of their menu and apparently they allow ppl to book the entire place too.. :) hehehe

So anyway, went down to Saint Andrew's School today and it was quite a cool experience.. met Pastor Ben and joined them for Chapel.. some of the kids seemed really restless and din seem to be paying much attention when the guy was preaching and they were like playing a fool even during worship.. yes, SA is a challenge.. thankfully, i love challenges.. God's grace is sufficient. Since it was the Sec 2s having chapel, i got to see Solomon in his all while prefect uniform.. hehe...chatted with him for a while lah.. after Chapel, i accompanied Pastor Ben for Chaplain's lunch.. it's when they would meet different classes every day to have lunch with them and also to engage them... and it was really the Lord's timing that i came today... you know why? Cos the class they had lunch with was 4N4- the same class that Jared, Shaun, David and Roger are in.. din see Roger though cos i heard his leg was injured.. but it was great that i got to see the rest of them.. talk about divine appointments.. :) apparently since ppl from the class ponned it, there was plenty of food to go around.. :9 oh and i found out that Jared was kinda interested in learning flags.. :D got to see Mark Tho today too but din get a proper chance to talk to him cos i was doing something then. After crashing SA, went to visit Ben and Rena's house and got to talk with her for a while.. she looks pretty stressed doing her masters and stuff among other things...

Oh.. and guess wad came out of my conversations with Pastor Ben.. i asked him if the school was open to outside ppl i.e. Sojourners to do something like an evangelistic concert there... then He said that got to clear with the church and school admin first lah but shouldn't be much of a problem.. just have to iron out details like the programme, etc.. one of the sticky things that he was saying might prolly arise is the issue of where do the salvations go.. but den i'm not concerned about the numbers.. just as long as ppl get saved... so that shouldn't be a problem.. :) Pastor Ben even said we can possibly even do a combined thingy or something.. If God opens the door, i'll take it :)

Overall had a fruitful day today.. went for dance prac in the evening... surprisingly, my arms weren't as tired holding the wings as i was before.. maybe cos my muscles have developed after the last prac???

Today, a good number of ppl sent me messages to pray for the Koreans.. and i was just having a short discourse with Rena and Pastor Ben regarding the matter.. i was telling them that maybe it's not so good if too many ppl pray for them.. cos perhaps one bunch would pray for God to keep them alive... and den another bunch might just pray the oopsite for them to be martyred to glorify God... so their prayers might just end up cancelling each other out??? Ben was saying that it's a good thing that God doesn't get influenced by our prayers and that He has His own will.. and that's probably the best thing to pray for in this situation... speaking in tongues is another alternative.. you may not know what you're praying but at least it's free from any carnal influence..

Tomorrow we're gonna do tracting and i was just asking God to send us divine appointments with those who are ready to hear His word.. but more on the subject of divine appointments, one can eaily see how when a person gives his/her life to Christ on the street is a divine appointment. One can also see how when a person encounters God during worship and God changes that person's life no matter how little or profound the experience may be.. that's a divine appointment. When a believer demonstrates love and compassion to others, it may even be considered as a divine appointment... but let's think about the Koreans for a moment.. what if their trip to Afghanistan was a divine appointment? What if their kidnapping was a divine appointment.. what if even their murder at the hands of the terrorist happen to be divine appointments? What if the Holy Spirit knew it full well, allowed it to happen- and more than that- played a part in setting it up so that it did happen? Is it a divine appointment? Yes of course.. the thing is, our puny little minds many times have no grasp of God's overall divine plan and how He might use such situations to see Himself glorified.. Martyrdom is a calling.. it is said in the Bible that precious to the Lord are the death of His saints.. It doesn't just happen.. it's divinely orchestrated to bring about furtherance to His Kingdom... it's the 100th year anniversary of the Korean revival so i believe God putting Korea like this on the world's eye is indeed significant.. cos He wants to do a new thing.. and we need to see things the way He sees them to cooperate with Him in His will and purposes...
