Restoration of Relationship

Just wanna blog about the weekends.. they've really been tiring for me and i had my fair share of ups and downs lah.. ok on saturday, went to church early for worship prac and during the prac, we were worshipping and as we were taking the first song, the Holy Spirit's presence came.. Thank You Holy Spirit for showing up.. though we don't deserve it, you still show up and it's only by Your grace, Lord.. The Holy Spirit's presence changes everything.. as we were practising the first song, i just saw fire coming down into the sanctuary.. we really had a wonderful time.. when we sang Lift Up Your Eyes, i just felt that the worship moved to a new level and later, JK released a word that God is going to give us a revelation of Him or smth like dat.. Den as we went along worshipping the Lord during prac, the Lord impressed upon me to sing this song... the words are a reference to Isa 61 which i believe the Lord is gonna do in our ministry:

The Spirit of the Lord
Is now upon me
To heal the broken heart
And set the captives free
To open prison doors
And cause the blind to see
The Spirit of the Lord
Is now on me

And we sang that song as a declaration of what we believe the Lord wants to do in our midst... After worship prac, we went for our 330 meeting and den had LG... we revised the John 3:16 sharing and Gideon and Nic did a pretty ok job presenting it.. I'm sure we'll all get better at it with more practice... :) Then we all went for service and we had a time of worship.. during the worship, i read out 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 and Psalm 139 which i felt some maybe needed to hear... If it ministers to you, i encourage you to read it again at your own time cos the Word of God is powerful and brings healing to the soul... :) Den Uncle Paul shared a good message on prayer and fasting... though it was simple, it ministered to me and i found it good cos i could really hear the heart of God behind his words.. and it's that message that challenges one to respond to it... :) We started the 40 day cycle of seeking God on a great note and i really appreciated yesterday.. one of the thoughts i had during the service that i perhaps need to share is that we shouldn't wait for camps or such events to get right with God but as we feel the Holy Spirit move in our hearts, we should respond to His conviction.. :) (dunno why I'm typing so many smileys in this post)....

Anyway, went to AMK Hub for dinner.. first time i ate at the food court.. oh btw, Eugene, Alex's fren joined us for service and for dinner.. and it was so great to see him mixing around with us.. :) had ice cream after dinner and even saw CHS' Pastor Ben at the food court with a bunch of them.. :) Den got home.. during my time of prayer, the Holy Spirit was just teaching me that preparing the way for the Lord talks about establishing a relationship with Him. When John the Baptist had that commission to be a voice in the wilderness to prepare the way for Him in Isa 40:3, essentially it is a job that calls one back to a relationship with God... The way for the Lord is relationship cos that's the way we experience Him in our lives, the way we experience more of Him and the channel that produces fruitfulness in our lives, even as we abide with Him (see John 15)... And that's one fundamental work that we have to see when we talk about preparing for revival.. The way = the journey = your walk with God = your relationship with Him... :)

Had a tiring yet excellent day to start the 40-day period..

Sunday. Had combined service in the morning, followed by some slacking at the youth room and then went out and watched the movie "Next"... Was quite moody the whole day lah... During my prayer time, i was just ranting out to God and pouring out my share of disappointments.. Actually Chris is quite sensitive one... he gets discouraged easily especially with what people do or say...and so i spent a considerable time complaining to the Lord.. His reply? "Move on." Just that... and when He said that, He sounded very much like Alvin really...

While praying, the Holy Spirit was continuing from yesterday's lesson and He was teaching me that revival is not like some entity or situation in itself that comes.. like when revival comes, you say "It is here!".. that sorta thing... rather what revival is is simply the presence of the Reviver, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself coming to fill us with Himself, His presence, etc... so when will revival come, it will come when there's a deep hunger and cry from our hearts for Him, the Reviver... And from Him, we'll get to experience His life and the blessings that flow out of it...sometimes, all of us are so caught up in praying for revival that what we're doing is that we're simply desiring the manifestations or blessings of the revival instead of desiring the Lord Himself.. and I'm guilty of that too.. but we need that change in mindset.. that when we pray for revival, we'll be certain of what or Who we really want... and the channel that the Reviver is gonna come through? Our relationship with Him of course... that's the way that is being prepared for Him to come.. There is gonna be a restoration of our relationship with the Reviver before revival comes... :)

The Holy Spirit is the one who does that.. He draws us to Him.. He reveals Jesus in our hearts.. And Jesus said that if He be lifted up from the earth- if He be honoured and regarded as holy in the sight of men- then He'll draw all men unto Himself... The Lord said that when the kingdom of God comes, ppl wun say "here it is" or "there it is" but the kingdom of God is within us.. it's cause of that relationship with God inside of us... :)

God bless y'all! ;)
